Of the multiple forums that were available in the 2000’s — ISS/Sole Collector, BapeTalk, BapeTalk2, Kicksxchange, Strictly Supreme, Female Sneaker Fiend, Vintage Gear Addicts,
N-SB and our very own HYPEBEAST — NikeTalk was without a doubt the biggest and most influential. Having been around since 1999, NT as it was known, is one of the few that are still active. Still, each forum had a very important and unique contribution to the rise and relevancy of streetwear. Sole Collector is a shell of its former self and has undergone a redesign; while BapeTalk, VGA, NSB and FSF are rarely used anymore and BT2, Kicksxchange, Strictly Supreme and HYPEBEAST Forums no longer exist.

Pretty cool piece and a good read. Brings back a lot of memories.

I'll never forget the NT/ISS beef back when Steve was around for ISS lol.

Kinda surprised superfuture is dead. Guess styleforum took over their spot.
 
Been active on NT since Nelly rocked the concords on that MTV awards show in 99'.

I never even attempted to go to any of those other cornball sites. Super Future was good for a few niches.. I had not clue all those other sites died.

I remember when Hypebeast founder was still lurkin NT, before HB took off.. I really wonder how many successful designers, musicians, athletes, taste makers, etc of today have come through the halls of NT.

Yea ISS had one of the best market place with the feedback system as well back in those days.

I thought ISS was corny from the get-go so I never joined.

I can go days without seeing my girl but I check on NT daily for something. Gotta credit the admin team for keeping the site fresh and the characters that make NT great.

what the.. idk why its redirecting to hbx. i went back to the blog post and made sure the link is correct... if anyone wants to read you can just go to hypebeast.com and it'll be on the first page.
 
same. i been on here everyday since 2004. met some really cool people through this site. most of them don’t post anymore but we stay in contact through text or fb. nowadays instead of shoes we talk about being husbands and fathers. in fact, met up with some NT fam at disneyland a few months ago.

I remember my lil homie put me on NT back in 2006-2007. Lost my old account after that move to yuku I think. I was on a bunch of forums back then. Datpiff and XXL Mag forums used to be jumpin' then they just disappeared
 
I never liked all the “official” threads on iss, it was just the bizarro world niketalk seemed like everyone was younger
 
NT will always be the GOAT forum, IMO. Some others are decent though lack the character and maturity found on NT.

Side note: Anyone remember MaddenMania and Madden Nation? I used to post there back in the day, like '02-'05 ish. GameFaqs was cool back then too.
