Im guessing its an ingrown toe nail???
I used to get them every other month when I was playing basketball 24/7.
I got surgery on my left big toe to prevent it from growing in on that side.
Id recommend NOT messing with it.
Just going to make it worse.

An in-grown toe nail? Ouch. I have the same thing. I refused to go to the doctor, and now my nail bed is all %%$%*# up. No longer infected but I do have tooccasionally clip it, or it will get infected. If it's still infected and throbbing, chances are there's a piece of nail that you can't seethat's piercing your flesh. Draining the pus will not help until that piece of the nail is removed.
If you go to the doctor, he'll send you to a podiatrist where you'll have the cuticles of your toes burned so that that part of the nail won't growand pierce your flesh.

The sound of them clipping the nail out is something terrible.
And the pressure they put on the toe ... u cant really feel it but u kno theyre diggin in and cutting it out.
