I have More Respect For Shane Battier Than Anyone Else In The League ...

Championship teams need players like Battier, almost as much as they need superstars. He just plays his role perfectly.
 
He undercuts, flops, and slides in late on 90% of his charges. He's just good at it (all it is is make sure you fall straight backwards and don't turnyour body as the contact comes and you get the call more often than not).

Plus, the top of his head has crop circles in it. Unappreciated

He is very much appreciated for being on my Rockets for playin great d, hittin the 3, and great leadership skills.. He motivates alot of the players but iwould still love to have gay over him.. And kobe has had 2 bad games against him in the 2 losses the lakers have had.. He got smashed by battier today..

Like one of the above comments said, he plays like he went undrafted. You have to respect a guy with that type of mentality, especially going up against aplayer like Kobe night in and night out.

Kobe jus got shutdown he didnt underperform.. And kobe didnt get no freethrows and he's barely attacked to the rim the whole series he has to jus shootjumpers..

Kobe is shooting 46% for the series, which is exactly what he shot in the regular season. so Battier's packet of notes or w/e on how to defend Kobe isn't working, because he's just as effective as normally is. Kobe is winning that matchup (except for today, of course).

the reason why the Rockets have been having success is not because of the Battier-Kobe matchup, but because the Lakers role players cannot knock down shots, and the Lakers do not play great team defense.

LOL classic example of someone not knowing what they are talking about ... kobe has been scoring yeah you got that, but its not because he is taking shane with ease ... its because hes jacking up shots at a crazy rate ... the only game he didnt score (tonight) he wasnt jacking like he had to in the previous games against houston to overcompensate for getting shut down ... also, shane isnt letting him get to the rim so he cant pad his stats with free throws ... hes taken the same amount of shots in 4 games against the rockets as he did in 5 games against the jazz ...

Maybe you missed this part so I'll go ahead and bold it for you. The Lakers aren't losing because of Kobe....no one else is showing up,which isn't much of a surprise. The next best players (Pau and LO) are charmin soft and inconsistent respectively. Shane had a great game...he's beenplaying great D on Kobe all 4 games...but Kobe isn't jacking and he's definitely not getting shut down(sans today).

Shane Battier is a selfless player, who gave up having a better statistical career for the
betterment of the team. He instead decides to focus his energy towards defense, hustle
and other intangibles. If he decided to be more assertive offensively he would be like
Tayshaun Prince.
