Nope. XBR9's and 10's have released.

The XBR9's are the highest models. They're also releasing several eco-friendly models with XBR features, too...

Boy, you really helped out the OP. Solid contribution right there.

Over the holidays, SONYSTYLE.com was having a sale
- 52 inch XBR9
- BLURAY PLAYER
-SURROUND SOUND

All for 1975.99.. Now the tv by itself sells for 2100

Sony's expensive trash.

Go with a 1080p , 120Hz Vizio or Insignia or some brand like that.

You'll pay under $700 for a 32'' model and maybe even a 37 or 40-42 inch.

Then when you get your money right get something a little better.

I doubt you can get 1080p anything for under $700 with Sony.

Nope. Try again.

You realize that TV's arent necesarily like a figure skating contest where the higher number indicates the better score right?

XBR8 is a RGB local dimming LED TV (one of the few on the market today) which allows for truer blacks and higher dynamic contrast ratios.

XBR9 (i believe) is a conventional LCD TV. Does not have LED backlit technology.

XBR10 is an EDGE-lit LED TV which is a step below (in terms of picture quality) RGB local dimming LED TV's

If you are judging a TV on picture quality, then XBR8 is the cream of the crop in terms of Sony LCD TV's. If you are basing your "best TV" onother non-picture related criteria (like super thin housings, multicolored backlighting like the Samsungs have, or some other non-pertinent critera) then youmight make the argument that there are other better TV's. That being said, judging a "best TV" on any critera other than actual picture qualityis like judging a "best car" on who has the most comfortable seating.

if you can pony up another $150 you can get a blu ray player too

let's calm down here. XBR8 is not even remotely close to any of the Kuro sets.

edit: i take that back. it never occurred to me that someone would buy an Pioneer LCD. plasma Kuros are in their own league but i've never seen an LCD Kuroso i'll reserve judgment.

Hate to bump this but the amount of emoticons you posted at my expense leaves me no choice.

Dude said $700. I guarantee you he is not getting a 1080p, 120Hz Sony for $700.

Obviously Sony has better quality televisions but not for the price requested.

Go *##+ yourself Crank.
