Duo Present iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World This Sunday on Discovery

In the wake of the (early) death of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs last week, Simon & Schuster have brought forward the publication date of Walter Isaacson’s official biography “buying up the rights to turn the book into a film as well. However, it looks like The Discovery Channel will beat them both to the punch this Sunday with the premiere of iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed the World. The one hour documentary, hosted by Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from MythBusters, airs at 8-9PM ET/PT and features interviews with a wide range of people from the technology, entertainment and media industries.
From the press release:
Steve Jobs was a creative and technological visionary who quite simply changed society as we know it. As co-founder and CEO of Apple Computer, Jobs ushered in personal computing to the masses, which in turn led to new innovations which completely changed our way of life – from how we do our work, to the way we watch movies, listen to music and interact socially.

They seem to have amassed a good number of (geeky) household names to talk to — from former Apple employees and executives, to journalists, authors and critics, and also musicians, filmmakers and designers. Here’s a few:

Adam Savage has this to say about the man himself:
“Someone once said that to follow the path that others have laid before you is a very reasonable course of action, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men. Steve Jobs was an unreasonable man. He didn’t simply give the public what they wanted, he defined entirely new ways of thinking about our lives in the digital space: productivity, creativity, music, communication, media and art. He has touched, directly and indirectly, all of our lives.â€
iGenius: How Steve Jobs Changed The World airs on Discovery on Sunday, October 16th at 8-9PM ET/PT and then later on Discovery’s international networks around the world.
