i'm 5'8 and i want to play d1 football

my boy played 4 years at Vandy, he was 5'6 and I'm not that sure he was fast at all, but the boy got yards in HS.

Nate Robinson played for the Washington Huskies. As long as you have freak athleticism you should be fine at any height. He even had a game changing interception that led to the winning field goal.

It got to the point where some of his own friends had to make fun of him for not winning to the state track meet because he just did well on every sport he took on HS.

every one of these dudes are 5'9 or shorter and thats just off top, so dont listen to anyone tryin to tell u your too short

if u need some help with drills or wateva, message me

anything is possible bruh! my boy is a 5'8" WR and he survived spring drills and as of right now is a walk on for the 2010 season at Alabama. whether you're tryna make a D1AA or not get after it.

like GUNNA said height is the last thing you have to think about playing RB, get your physique correct, know how to run, and your height can be a asset if you're a powerful runner.

Right.  That's why he's not really a good example because he's a total athletic freak.  Not too many people out there like him.
But, at 5'8", to make in D-1, I'd say that you either have to be built like a tank, run a 40 somewhere in the 4s, or both.  Probably both.  But it is possible.

If you want to play d-1 A, probably don't have a very good chance (unless you have insane field vision and a sub 4.5 40).
If you want to play d-1AA, i'd say you have a realistic chance as long as you were a very productive player in high school.
If you'd like any tips/advice on drills, training, etc just PM me. Best of luck to you bro.

that's why you never know, my dude is 5'8" he a strong little !+*#!$ but he only weight about 165, he walked on and ran two seasons of 300 hurdles w/ bama track team so he probably did get his speed up but in high school he wasn't running faster than 4.8

OP be straight up with yourself, are you good? honestly?

or are you one of those dudes who says "i have a lot of work to do but i'm gonna bust my +!! everyday"

lol at people on here really taking this dude serious giving him advice. my man is asking niketalk for opinions on "how to become a division 1 football player," come on now.

Your only hope is to go to a junior college and hope to get some playing time at the LB position and hope that people take notice. The odds are against you but that is probably your best bet.

Can't come to NT with these questions. All you'll get is a bunch of _'s telling you what you CAN'T do.

What's the problem? Off the top of my head I can think of 5 D1 football players who are on NT and will/could give him advice. Where is he supposed to go? I'm sure he's done his due diligence outside of NT as well, but it can't hurt to ask on here either.

I play/played a D1 sport myself and I know that in D1-AA if you're a student on campus and you're really athletic plus were a good high school player you can make it as a walk-on for football and track, especially if some of the guys on the team put in a good word. I have several friends that have done that and I even got one on the team myself. But he was also 5th in the state in long jump and definitely could have ran somewhere straight out of high school if he didn't get in trouble. I wasn't stating that there aren't people on here that could give him advice. I just think him coming to Niketalk for opinions and not saying a thing about his high school career sounds a little "Radio" to me.
