I'm a new truck owner...any advice?

I just got a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport.  I live in Alaska so I wanted to get something I could drive in the snow. 
I'm looking for studded tires to get on my truck soon because the first day of snow was yesterday.

What else should I know about my truck and driving in cold, snowy weather?
