Closed nondisplaced fracture of head of left radius bone in arm (where my elbow meets my forearm bone).

I was running on a sidewalk. Cyclist collided with me from behind, knocked us both over.

I tried to brace my fall on my left side but clearly I didn’t help myself enough.

Bummed out.

Anybody been in this spot, or have any tips to make this time easier, having an arm sling easier?

Hope you make a good recovery man.
got no tips though.

I had rotator cuff surgery back in oct. Was in a sling 4 weeks, slept in the recliner for about 7 weeks. Wasnt comfortable in the bed until about 3.5 months post-op

First cpl weeks use them pills (if you truly need it) especially that first few days, just go aheas n take them on a schedule. As for the sling, find a resting spot and remember your technique taking it on n off to find that spot again. It sucks its already a pain but when you cant find that spot its worse

Good luck.

I had a couple surgeries when I was 13 and 18 and was bed ridden for a month and then some both times, during the summer nonetheless. So I can empathize a little.

Sounds like the head of your radius jammed into the joint and fractured it? Must have been some heavy impact. Also sounds like you have a civil case if you want it.

Tips:
1) Take it one day at time. You're naturally going to want the recovery to be faster than it's taking and it's going to feel like it's taking forever. Don't get frustrated or down on yourself. Take advantage of the down time and catch up on TV series, books, movies. Don't think on your injury too much.
2) Keep your nutrition in check. I remember being laid up and not giving a damn. Frozen food, fast food, soda, candy. Don't do that. Eat good wholesome foods and stay hydrated.
3) Only take pain meds if absolutely necessary. Those things are a slippery slope and can easily lead to withdrawal.
4) Find a point person like family member that can help you with menial tasks that are tough to do in a sling. Good way of flirting too if you're single.
5) When it gets to that point, take your therapy seriously. Do the take home exercises they give you and follow through with the whole program.

Good luck. Hope it's smooth sailing. Get outside and go for walks. Being inside too much isn't good either.

I was in a cast twice. Right hand. Once just to the middle of my forearm. Once all the way to my elbow. The one all the way to my elbow sucked, but it’s whatever. Smart phones didn’t exist then so life went on.

Bout to find this cyclist for you b. Got the homie all slinged up :{

Appreciate the tips and help everyone, more than I expected. Thanks.

2 months of no fap will have OP hitting O's harder than racial oppression in the 1890s

Godspeed

You left handed OP? I broke my right shoulder a couple years back and when I went back to work I had to learn to write with my left hand. Its crazy how all these muscles are connected. Broken shoulder and I couldn't even properly grip a pen with my fingers.

Theres some good tips in here.

Why do cyclists be thinking they own roads tho? They don’t got breaks? Real question

The be crossing the street while cars got green lights causing all types of break checking n horn blasting n just put their hand in the air like it’s all cool lol

I've seen people biking in the absolute WORST locations. They grind my gears (no pun.)

Lawyer up, bro. You also broke your legs. You just don't know it yet.

I wouldn’t stop there though, I’d go the crackhead Ezail route and say my neck and my back.
