In the market for a car....any buying advice/recommendations?

I'm in the market for a new car in the 25-lower 30K's range...looking for a sports sedan-type car. Anyone have any recommendations? I.e. Nissan Maxima, Acura TSX, or something similar to that?

 As of now, I think I've limited it down to a brand new fully equipped Hyundai Sonata or a lightly used BMW 328 or Infiniti G37, but I'm open to check out any other suggestions that might be cheaper or in that range. Just wanted to see if any NTers own any similar cars and might have suggestions. Also would appreciate any general car buying tips/advice, since this will be the first car I'll be purchasing myself

I've test-driven the Sonata and a used BMW 328- loved them both...plan to test drive a few more cars before making a final decision.
