Even with all of the injuries, Fred Taylor has still managed to put up amazing numbers. His toughness running the ball is supreme, and he has the ability tobust a big one on any given play.

I certainly believe he is one of the greatest backs to ever play the game. If anybody actually watched Jaguars games, which very few people do, he wouldprobably get more respect.

no joke... this fred taylor slurping is gettin ridiculous.

before gunna dropped his name i aint hear nobody mention it.

AND thats not sayin he isnt worthy of all the accolades hes gettin on this board... im just sayin

no he won't make the HOF. Even though they are playing different positions, look at the uphill battle Art Monk has had to face. Plus, was Fred Taylor theBEST in his era? I think guys like Curtis Martin and even Tiki Barber have a better chance than Fred.

here are the current HOF RB's....tell me if you think Fred belongs

Marcus Allen (RB) 1982-1997
Jim Brown (FB) 1957-1965
Earl Campbell (RB) 1978-1985
Larry Csonka (FB) 1968-1979
Eric Dickerson (RB) 1983-1993
Tony Dorsett (RB) 1977-1988
Frank Gifford (HB-FL) 1952-1960, 1962-1964
Franco Harris (RB) 1972-1984
Paul Hornung (HB) 1957-1962, 1964-1966
John Henry Johnson (FB) 1954-1966
Leroy Kelly (RB) 1964-1973
Ollie Matson (HB) 1952, 1954-1966
Hugh McElhenny (HB) 1952-1964
Lenny Moore (HB) 1956-1967
Marion Motley (FB) 1946-1953, 1955
Walter Payton (RB) 1975-1987
Joe Perry (FB) 1948-1963
John Riggins (RB) 1971-1979, 1981-1985
Barry Sanders (RB) 1989-1998
Gale Sayers (HB) 1965-1971
O.J. Simpson (RB) 1969-1979
Jim Taylor (FB) 1958-1967
Thurman Thomas 1988-2000
Charley Trippi (HB) 1947-1955
Doak Walker (HB) 1950-1955

in all seriousness, Fred Taylor is a shoe in for the hall of fame. and he has the respect of the old heads and all of his peers.

Jim Brown swears by him. I need to find the interview he had on NFL network. (someone help me out if you have it or have the link)

Deion Sanders even brought it up this week after the 80 yard run hilights.

Fred is 10 yrs in and he's 18 th all time in rushing yards. Longevity stands for alot in the RB department, and to put up the numbers that Fred has doneis ridiculous.

not a chance. When did anyone ever say to themselves, DANG I GOT TO WATCH TONIGHT'S GAME, FRED TAYLOR'S PLAYING...

for a guy to make the Hall, you have to look at that player and think to yourself, now there's one of the greatest of all time... has anyone here everthought that about fred?

Fred Taylor just passed Tiki Barber at 18 on the all time rushing yards list this week.

before gunna dropped his name i aint hear nobody mention it.
Not true at all. Every time we had a top 5 RB post he was always on my list. As far as two seasons ago. Alot of people have been sleeping onFreddy but not everybody.

With that said the slobfest is getting out of hand

dudes need to really chill out... despite what gunna would have you think, Fred Taylor is not the only guy to rush for 10,000 yards or put up those types of numbers, 18th all-time in rushing is not HOF material

But Gunna....many people thought that Art Monk was a shoe-in for the HOF, and look what happened to him. I know it's a different position, but Monk leftfootball with records under his belt, superbowl rings, pro bowl selections, all-pro selections, all-decade team for the 80's, etc etc....and of course heis STILL waiting for his induction. Fred Taylor, no matter how many yards he racks up is going to have an uphill battle. There are going to be a lot of factorsthat will be considered when his time comes for a HOF nod. I just don't see him getting in. I don't think he has enough on his resume. IMO, CoreyDillon stands a better chance. However, I only think that Curtis Martin will be the only RB out of that group to make it.

as of right now Taylor is in the same boat as Tiki, Dillon, Dunn... borderline. he has NO pro bowls, postseason success, broken records to speak of, and the career stigma of being injury prone.
But....... he is Fred Taylor

Gunna, every considered doing an infomercial, politics, etc?

Being serious,

Fred is deserving, I think...but it is borderline
