Is Gerald Henderson just another...

Dahntay Jones...I've been looking at this kid Henderson's game and all he does is dunk, have no dribble, and shoot a decent three pointer. Does Dukejust recruit carbon copy's of what they had in the past or something.

Word I remember when he first came on the scene and he has gotten better. A long way is almost an understatement. He went from 6, 12, 16 ppg averaged per year.He's a bit undersized, but if he continues working on his shot and stays another year, I can see him being a productive player unlike Dahntay.

Dahntay Jones is good at one thing:

He starts, and guards the opposing team's best wing player every game. Unfortunately for him, that's where it ends.

Henderson is a more polished player than Jones ever was at Duke. He's not quite as good of a defender, but better at essentially everything else.

Sidebar: Henderson is maybe the only Duke player of all-time that I can tolerate.

Laettner was a 10+ yr NBA vet and averaged around 13/7 for his career.

Henderson is slightly better than Jones.

Maybe a poor man's Gerald Wallace or something.

He didnt live up to the potential though man. This guy was iconic in college. The way they treat bum %#$ Hansborough now like hes god doesn't even compareto how they talked about Chris in 92. Plus, he came with the Duke reputation. People expected a lot out of him. I personally think you cant say Cherokeebecause he had like six big men drafted ahead of him. Power Forwards were the top prospects that year but still -

Joe Smith, Trent, Kurt Thomas, Rasheed, KG, Big Country, Dyess.

You are right - he does get solid minutes in Denver. He may not be Bowen, but hes going down that Ross, Hassell, Bowen defensive specialist route.

I hate Gerald for the obvious reasons, but dude has gotten better eac year and this year he's finally improved his shooting and overall game. Seems likethe kid has great work ethic and bust his +#* to get get better so I can only see him improving his game. If he doesn't happen to adjust to the Pro gamethat athleticism will always keep him around.

His ability to get up is just

. I see him driving to the bucket thinkinghe's gonna lay it up or shoot a fadeaway next thing I see his head is above the rim.

Like already stated, Dahntay is good for one thing in the L.

Maybe early in Gerald's career, you could say all he was good for was dunking.

But if you follow his career, Dude has mad BIG strides in his overall game. I remember i used to be scared when Henderson had the ball in his hands because helooked so uncomfortable with it. But now, i expect him to have the ball, especially in clutch situations.

so i think, Henderson will be a MUCH more productive pro than Dahntay.

Have you watched Gerald at all this year?

And you makes some valid points about the other @*##, but still.

If anything, G has relied LESS on dunking than he has at any other time in his career.
