Well damn, they went hardbody.
I honestly think that with the right first impression, a tattoo won't matter unless it's like dollar bill signs, cuss words or whatever obviously turns people off.

Do what you want. +!%+ what people think about you. But if have to ask this you are not built for a neck tattoo.

my rule for my own tats is that none of them show when i only have a t-shirt on. i would err on the side of being safe, especially in today's job market and not get a neck tattoo or any tattoo that might be seen by any potential employer. think about anyone that you perceive as being a successful professional in the fields that you may get into and see if any of those people have any tattoos that show.

you can maybe the miltary as a small slice of how society views tattoos. a bunch of us enlisted (more blue collar) people have tattoos in places where they are easily seen, but i do not know of any officers (professionals, those in charge) that weren't former enlisted that have any tattoos that show even in shorts and a tank top.

Don't do it. It's a really poor choice of location.

Put it somewhere else...maybe on your upper forearm if anything

It's easy to give people advice when you aren't directly involved and the best experience you have is word of mouth from people who are, like yourself, nowhere near the real situation.

Here's the bottom line: Plainly visible or not, when people know you have unbecoming tattoos (wrist, neck, forearm, etc.) you are viewed differently in the white collar arena - and it not in an improved way.  Love it, hate it, whatever.  That's the way it is.

Ideally we would all base opinions of one another on our character and the content of our hearts.  But if you believe that's the way the world works you need to go back home because you're missing Blue's Clues.

to all the chicks saying its sexy...lmfao. priorities ladies...

yes tattoos on men are sexy however, im more concerned about your professional well-being. given your career field i do not think it is a smart move. it will be hard to get a job in that field because you will be in the spotlight so to speak. Maybe get it along your collarbone or somewhere else. Tattoos are becoming more accepting in the work place however I think a neck tat is pushing it. Like someone else said tattoos on the neck, forearm, hands, and face (god forbid)... i think other races may view the people with them as trouble makers.

Why don't you just wait?  I don't get why you're in such a rush to get it.  Your neck will still be there after you get a career.  I like neck tattoos also and I
thought about getting one.  I've seen on tattoo shows that artists will advise people not to get tattoos on your face, hands or neck.  On Miami Ink one of the

guys says the tattoo he regrets the most is his neck tattoo because he gets such a negative reaction from it.

I have a neck tattoo and a full sleeve and I have 2 jobs. One is a career job and the other has potential to be. BUT it depends on the field you work in. Honestly I got my neck tatt because I wanted it and it has alot of meaning to me... Therefore I wasn't really worried about what people thought about it. It's up to you if you want to take that chance. I haven't had any issues because I think my qualifications and personality outweigh the fact that I have tattoos. BUT I don't work on wall street either...
