Is jay-z gonna start a trend of (good) rappers in and nearing their 40's?

Nas is what, 35/36? All of Wu Tang is 35+. Dr. Dre is 40+ so, I dont see why not. Most will rap well into their 40s. Now, 50? I hope not.

The older guys just need to switch up their subject matter.

Hov's flow might have fallen off a lil bit on AG but lyrically that was one of (if not THE) best album of 2007.

Nas' Untitled isn't as good as his debut album but it was still one of his best albums lyrically too.

Andre 3000 is 34 which isn't quite as old, but you could argue his flow and lyricism is just as good as 10 years ago.

I remember Ghost saying he wanted to rap till like 80 or some +%#% in an OLD Source Mag back in high school...

As long as you sound good you should be able to rap as long as you want... I look foward to listening to hip hop until I die, as much as I LOVE the 90'smusic I wouldnt mind having quality music in the 2020's 30s
