"Love Lockdown" just came on....I've always dug the song but I just realized that Ye is a genius. This track is...perfect.

The last 1:10 of the song. Oh my...

I think 808's is definitely going to be the album he's remembered for.

KanYe will always be that dude. People only hate because they don't understand it or its too different. If you seriously put your life in perspective andlooked at all the different moods and situations you've been in, he really does have that moment music.

It's a bass heavy drum

Kanye isn't quite a genius but he is talented. It's due to the lack of talent in the modern music era that he looks like a genius.

Kanye is a very good producer who made "friends" in the industry, Kanye doesnt even write his own verses

he is barely average live, not hating on what he has been able to do but Kanye is no where near an all time great, but if you have a sneaker and fruityfashion, most of this board will love you

I never said better i said different as in not the same. Andre might be my favorite hip hop artist. But lyrics and subject matter aside thats all he has onkanye. I said another level cause He infact did the album. Andre didnt create an album he just hit the booth and spit and gave the nod on what songs he likedislike. He didnt do arrangements beat oversampling etc on the album. Not to knock him The Love Below is one of my all time favs. Its like comparing Prince andMJ ppl praise love Mj as do i,but well it takes more creativity for prince to make an album over mike jackson.

I think to recognize Kanye's genius you have to possess a vivid imagination along with some sort of intellectual capability to understand the pictureshe's painting.

Maybe his music just isn't for you.

Why does everyone keep comparing 808's to TLB? Besides two rappers singing in an abstract manner, I don't see it.

TLB was super experimental with traces of hip-hop here and there. It's beautiful and one of the greatest things to come from this decade.

808's on the other hand is like 90% hip-hop, minus the rapping.

Kanye's "genius" gets the best of him on 808's sometimes. IMO Love Lockdown is one of those songs where he's trying too hard. He does histhing on songs like Heartless though cause he has that Ye charm on there, whereas on LL it's devoid of the Ye we've grown to know.
