J.Cole Cole World: The Sideline Story Signing
Wednesday, September 28 2011 1:17 AM EST | Posted by: B.Dot | Posted in: Blog, Focus, Top 5 Posts
Before wrapping up a long day of promo, Jermaine held an in-store autograph signing at J&R Music World for his debut, Cole World: The Sideline Story. The line stretched the block, but Cole was eager to meet every fan. Even Memphis Bleek stopped by to show support.

After signing his last CD, he and manager Mark Pitts purchased the remainder of the store’s inventory. If you couldn’t make it to Lower Manhattan, here’s footage courtesy of The Dark Nyte. A few pics below.

at you agreeing with the then totally contradicting yourself.
cotter07 and Da R Entertainment -  If you've followed an artist since day one ans you would like to see them succeed why wouldn't you want to be apart of them having the number 1 album title as well as moving units. That's like saying you want Obama to be president but not go out and vote because his changes won't affect you.

I gotcha. Reasonable Doubt didn't go Platinum til 2002 and I don't think a lot of people are aware.

I give it a solid 8-8.5/10... I don't see it moving up higher in the future, but crazier things have happened...

Sideline Story song is
pimp.gif
... Was driving past the off-site campus for my college  had my windows down cranked up with the interlude before it $+#+ had me reflecting on my own life crazy.... Favorite song on the album

I just want him to sell enough to get another album.

I finally got to play it earlier. All I could do is smile. Thinking about all the nay sayer that kept saying he was never dropping. He is gonna get shelved. He is gonna do Wale numbers(No shot)

Even almost left doubt in my mind when it didn't drop last year. That album was definitely worth the wait.

I don't think I have a favorites song yet but people made Mr Nice watch seem like some tragedy. It's not that bad. I can mess with it

That Hova verse was Father help me Jesus. His next album is gonna be crazy. Unless WTT is counted as his album after bp3.then that means it will garbage

Opinion is opinion...but just for reference, who would you consider an above average rapper to great rapper at this point in hip hop?

COLE IS NOT MEDIOCORE RAPPER, dont get it twisted Cole is a wicked lyricist and can pretty much out rap anyone in the game. Its CONTENT that he lacks-lacked on this debut.
His subject matter will get repetitive really quick if he does not explore his artistic or creative side.

His music doesn't stand out in any way. Just as a whole, he doesn't make great music, it doesn't suck either...it's just okay. Funny thing is I can relate to a lot of the stuff Cole raps about in his songs, but his music just doesn't leave any lasting impact on me where I feel like I have to listen to it again.

Who i consider a great rapper is irrelevant. But as far as the up and comers...guys like Krit, Kendrick Lamar, Dom, and Childish Gambino are just better at making good music. Not necessarily rapping....but making good music.

I think cole gonna sell at least 6 figures
I went to two targets looking to cop and both of them joints was sold out I lucked out and found one of the last copies at best buy

being able to "out rap" anyone =/= making good music.

Y'all confuse lyricism and saying catchy $!$% in a verse with making good music.

I was just making a point dude, i know that good lyricist doesnt mean good music, Cannibus... Anyways though i just didnt want to discredit his ability to rap.

That.

I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here... if it was not for the Roc Nation association, this guy would be Mickey Factz status or whatever random rapper 2DopeBoyz pushes this week.

He deserves to be making music for fans in comment sections, not passive people who buy tickets because Jay-Z said so.

You see what i'm talking about? Straight chick music and dudes who...

Man...I'm done. I already know where this will go if I start talking about that picture...

Ain't nothing wrong with making music for your "fans" but lets not let that get in the way of saying what this REALLY is.

and to them dudes saying cole doesnt make good music you gotta understand that good music is opinion based
I think good music is a song with a good concept and good beat I dont give a $%%* about the hook honestly, for others a good song might be different they might think what I like is wack but to each his own i guess
