[:: J. COLE THREAD | DREAMVILLE's ROTD3 ALBUM OUT NOW!! ::]

Wow just came back from the Houston concert. It was amazing. Cole brought out Kendrick, who helped him perform Forbidden Fruit. Also played HiiiPower and BDKMV. Nice to see Cole having this concert for his day 1 fans. He played a lot of his classics, mainly from FNL, but also had a couple songs from CW:TSS and the two singles from Born Sinner. Second time seeing him, such a great performer!

Also second time seeing Kendrick in two weeks

Yep. Basically said it from the start, if your here for his singles go see him in October during his tour. This was for the real fans willing to wait 5+ hours to get in the building. I knew all of Houston would be there (kirko, bun, slim) but once Kdot came out, man. Amazing show.

felt like the same show he did in houston two years ago times 10, amazing show and premeditated murder live was crazy

You're better than this. Because "Life is Good" didn't win a grammy, means it didn't have lyrics with content that can apply to your average man's life? While Jay's been rapping about having mad money, not driving a car, buying paints, vacationing in other islands and the same BS after all these years.

Let me simplify this for you...one artist has grown musically, one artist has grown financially.

I honestly think he was asking if Nas won a Grammy for Life is Good :lol had nothing to do with Jay-Z :lol

^^^He tells about the 1st time Nas heard LND etc... & shawty giving the interview wants the D

Nas won a Grammy for Life is Good correct??

The music business hate me 'cause the industry ain't make me
Hustlers and boosters embrace me And the music I be making
I dumb down for my audience And double my dollars
They criticize me for it Yet they all yell "Holla"
If skills sold Truth be told I'd probably be
Lyrically Talib Kweli
Truthfully I wanna rhyme like Common Sense
(But I did five Mil)
I ain't been rhyming like Common since
When your sense got that much in common And you been hosteling since
Your inception **** perception Go with what makes sense
Since I know what I'm up against
We as rappers must decide what's most important
And I can't help the poor if I'm one of them
So I got rich and gave back To me that's the win, win
The next time you see the homie and his rims spin
Just know my mind is working just like them
(The rims that is)
K?!. ;)

Naw she's married to Duane Brown (NFL money > Music money), but either way, she used to be on MTV etc, made it pretty big IMO. Plus a lot of the Texans and former Texans (Barwin) were in the building as well.

Anyone else in other cities been to this tour? I know NYC he brought out Drake, Philly he brought out Meek, and Houston was KDot. What about other cities?

any nyc heads know of any lowkey spots that could have the deluxe joint? strong preference to queens or midtown 8o

I'm not an NYC head but if you really can't find it anywhere near you and really want the deluxe just order it from amazon, it's what I did. Free 2 day shipping with prime as well.

Middle of the album really bogs down. At the very least the middle section isn't album-worthy material. "Runaway" is a decent song but it would work better on the album if it wasn't surrounded by lackluster songs.

^Lol.... That's pretty interesting that you think the middle of the album is weak. Runaway is only decent?

I could make a case that' that is my fav part of the album. Trouble Runaway She Knows Rich N' is a perfect four song stretch IMO.

She knows and Rich N are lackluster? He coulda took a different approach lyrically on Trouble tho... But the production is a Win

This interview with NPR is a great read. Ali from Tribe is the interviewer and he really enjoyed the album... He breaks it down quite well and gets some good feedback from Cole

100% final.

Cole did numbers.... Kanye last album did 500k. Disappointing numbers for his stature

Props to Cole.

Now we need that record where he flexs on these industry and rapper smucks. Kick that humble to side for 3-5 mins Cole. 300K on these dudes... Only "new" rapper to do that. Had the highest selling week on CW till Kendrick came along too

This is with me excluding Drake and Nicki cuz they like Pop/Rap at this point
