Don't do this lol... I'm from the south as well

Props to Cole... Wanna see the album climb to plat now... Hopefully he will be knocking on the door by year end. Album still rides to me and he doesn't even have to hide it from MCHG imo

This album straight bumps in the whip :x

Kendrick said it best
Real people want real music the jig is up

Good to see he's doing so well but I'm still baffled as to how it's doing so well.

This. Like I enjoy the album, but it really has no mass appeal. Is it fan base really that big or is Power Trip just killing the charts?

I think it's actually both. I'm gonna pick this up this weekend, mostly cause my sister was already expecting me to have it :lol

It's the word of mouth man combined with his already extremely large and radical fanbase. One of the few fanbases that go to war for their guy. Like they'll buy two and three copies to support him. Guess it's the benefits of taking the grassroots approach to building a fanbase, literally from the ground up and providing said fanbase with arguably classic product along the way.

Born sinner doesn't sell Born Sinner. The Come Up, School Daze, Simba, The Warm Up, Grown Simba, Friday Night Lights, Truly Yours 1 & 2, Sideline Story, all of that sells Born Sinner. Combine the fanbase that he grew from the aforementioned with the great word of mouth about this album, you can see why it's doing so well.

Also, despite the fact most of NT thinks it's boring and no mass/replay appeal, that opinion isn't really shared outside of here. Thus, the great word of mouth for the product.

I'm still playing the album 3 weeks later. Glad he is doing numbers. Can't wait for the new mixtape though!

Fav tracks

LAnd of Snakes
power trip
villumenati
Rich n#$&&
Forbidden fruit
chaining day
Trouble

No runaway?? This is all obviously opinion but Runaway is by far the best track IMHO

I know ppl that off the strength of being able to see him for $! they went & copped the album.

Also, the ***** like Coal

glad to see this album doing so well :smokin

im sure a good amount of sales have to do with power trip & the exposure that he's been getting, but most sales have to be attributed to his loyal fanbase. a lot of fans came up from the mixtape days, so to follow him all this time, we've been along for the ride, its only right to continue to support.

The first verse on Runaway speaks to me like no other verse has in a very long while. The song in general is just like my life over the past couple of years.

listening to The Warm Up for the 1st time in months, this could've been a pretty good album.

As the week have increased I find myself just playing (if anything) tracks 5-12 & 14. The replay value isn't huge for me but he sold and Ive been supporting Cole since 08 so Im cool with this

Looks like he only selling 15K or so this week and dropping out of top 10 for album sales, he needs to drop video for Crooked smiles, Album really grew on me after listening to it more and more
