The definition is not what it was in the 2000s lol. We are 20 years down the road. This isn’t an official album, regardless of the original production. A “warm up album” if anything.

From a pure rapping standpoint, Kendrick is a better rapper but I’m gonna be honest, even he has a lot of tracks that don’t stick or I’ll probably never listen to again. Kendrick’s “highs” are better than Jermaine’s in my opinion though both from a rapping and songwriter standpoint.

I think b/c he may have referred to it as a "mixtape" on that notepad, and Cole usually has more mainstream sound. This does have a mixtape vibe though. He put a lot of emphasis on rapping rapping on this one.

“Born Sinner” has aged so well, relistened to it yesterday and theres no misses. Very close second to FHD for me.
