JAMES BOND movie thread: RIP Sir Sean Connery - NO TIME TO DIE 10/08/21

I enjoy the older Bonds for what they were but didn't like Spectre regressing. Let that old corny vibe go unless it's satire like Kingsman.

Him returning doesn't really matter if the movies aren't good. It's just a waste like qos and spectre were. Just give me another Casino Royale and i'll be happy.

To be fair, QOS was filmed during the writing strike I believe so the storyline was weak and the studios were forcing the movie out.  Spectre on the other hand was inexcusable.  The first half of the movie started strong and the second half was really weak.  They really didn't piece the ending very well and really wasted Waltz's character and acting.

Mendes was somewhat forced to make Spectre, which you can kind of tell he didn't seem to care as much. Skyfall had these great cinematography and scenes and settings, most of those shots were stunning and memorable while Spectre doesn't even have much of those.

A Christopher Nolan James Bond film remains a definite possiblity

Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception) just said in an interview with Playboy (via Variety) that he would be interested in directing a James Bond film. He said, however, that it would have to be a reinvention that needed him.

“A Bond movie, definitely,” Nolan told the magazine. “I’ve spoken to the producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson over the years. I deeply love the character, and I’m always excited to see what they do with it. Maybe one day that would work out. You’d have to be needed, if you know what I mean. It has to need reinvention; it has to need you. And they’re getting along very well.”

Rumor: Bond 25 Called Shatterhand; Features Blind Villain

A major rumor has surfaced online about the mysterious nature of Bond 25, as the film may be titled Shatterhand and adapted from one of the more recently published books following the adventures of 007.

With previous uncertainty as to whether or not Daniel Craig would return for his fifth outing as the famous British super spy, it appears that the actor will indeed be returning for what may be his final appearance as James Bond. With the series officially at the quarter mark to one hundred live-action films, we know Bond 25 will be released in November of 2019 and that French filmmaker Yann Demange is the frontrunner to direct. Little to no plot details are known to this point, but a potential leak online may have enlightened us to where the next step in the franchise is headed.

According to a rumor reported by European tabloid site Mirror, the 25th Bond flick will be titled Shatterhand and will be based upon elements of the 2001 Bond novel Never Dream of Dying by Raymond Benson. If based heavily on that story, Bond will go up against a blind super villain leading an evil French organization called the Union, as he investigates a police raid gone deadly wrong. The femme fetale Bond girl in the film would be Tylyn Migonne, an actress and seductress with ties to the visually-impaired antagonist.

In addition, Mirror reports that producers of the film are scouting locations in Croatia, France, and Japan for major action sequences for Shatterhand. Benson had previously adapted three of the Pierce Brosnan-led Bond movies into novelizations, but this would be the first time that the movies would draw from his original stories and not the other way around. Beyond that adaptation, the script by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade also features elements of 1960s Bond films like the Sean Connery-led You Only Live Twice and the one-off George Lazenby entry On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

There is no confirmation of this rumor in any manner, and given that Mirror is a tabloid-based publication, everything here should be taken with a major grain of salt. The article also mentions that Christoph Waltz’s head of Spectre Ernst Blofeld and Dave Bautista’s Mr. Hinx could potentially return, providing additional carryover and connective tissue from the previous four Daniel Craig films that have defined his run as 007. Considering that Bautista was kicked out of a fast-moving train during Spectre, we’ll see how likely his return is – but given that Waltz is still alive and imprisoned by the end of the film, Blofeld could play a Hannibal Lecter-style role in helping Bond solve the mystery of Shattterhand.

if that rumor pans out hoping they just bring back Bautista, for opening of the film, that would be epic. That train fight was one of the best moments of Spectre, hopefully the source materiel also has a car that works. Car scene from Spectre shoulda been a scene from the pierce brosnan movies

Well this way he's got a chance to go out on a better note than Spectre.

Nah fam he should quit and left after Skyfall.

$$$ brought him back for Spectre and now this next one. He even admits it in several interviews.

Not the first Bond actor to do it though over the years. Same thing happened with Sean Connery and Roger Moore.

I don’t really have optimism left for these movies so the next one being average or above average would be a nice surprise.

Craig? Adele? Nolan?

Body is ready

Edit : No Nolan :smh: body only kind of ready

I’ve been wanting spinoff movies with other Double 00 agents. Also a movie where he faces off against other 00’s who have switched sides or gone rogue like in Goldeneye. We kinda got a little bit of that with javier bardem being a former mi6 agent in Skyfall.
