He was definitely an all time great who sacrificed so much individual glory and recognition knowing that he would always be the second or third option on ateam with Kareem and Magic. Remember, the Lakers passed on Dominique Wilkins to get Worthy. He also played against a lot of small forwards who made the HOF --Aguirre, Dantley, English, Bernard King, Wilkins, and of course, Bird and Dr. J. The 80's were the glory years of the small forward. The fact that Jameswas willing to play third fiddle to two superstars is a lesson that young players now should learn. He could have averaged 20-25 pts and 7-8 rbs per game on alesser team. With a dynasty, he averaged a 'mere' 17 and 5. But he won three rings, a Finals MVP, a 7-time all-star and a ticket to the Hall of Fame.
