Damn, what was the issue with your house?

We had some sort of animal in the attic and when we called out pest control to catch/remove it they found some damage up there..So we had to do some roof repairs and we had to get the whole attic re-insulated..So between the pest damage, the water damage, and the all new insulation we had to use our Christmas money to put as a down payment to get the repairs done ASAP and finance the rest..Which it wouldn't be so bad but I just had to pay $100 to take one dog to the vet and another $350 to take the other dog to the vet (the oldest one, literally, lost half his body weight and went blind in all of 2 weeks)..When it rains it pours..

Hope things get better for you uce. I hope pest control involved the pest getting tombstoned for stepping into your yard and subsequently, your house.

Dogs are doing good..The oldest one has cataracts in both eyes (1 is totally gone and the other is about 75% gone) and he's diabetic (hence the weight loss)..So he's been doing better since we've been checking his blood and giving him insulin twice a day..

Taking it in stride is all you can do..What's the other option?..Have a total meltdown?..That won't help my bank account any..So I keep my head up, thank God for all that is right in my life, and keep plugging away..

It was either squirrels or maybe a raccoon..Not too sure..The gable vents on the ends of the house weren't screened off..So we got those sealed up and every other possible intrusion point sealed up (apparently there was some evidence of mice in the attic too)..They laid poison and traps up there and the insulation has a natural Borax pet repellent in it to prevent anything from wanting to come back..
