I remember looking forward to this matchup on WCW Pro. I wish they would have been able to wrestle on a PPV but I took what I could get.
Chris Cruise and Living Legend on the mic, did a solid job here. They spent ALOT of time talking about the WCW Debut of Rey Mysterio Jr, rightfully so.
But this was a solid little match

Understandable, but view it as a "Flash KO" type of situation.
Also, I feel this era of Jr. Heavyweight wrestling was my favorite since the over the top moves weren't in full force yet. Not so many kickouts of finishers and stuff was a tad bit slower than they are today

I could see that. Thinking about it, the RLS SHOULD be a deadly finisher. You grab an opponent and force them backwards onto their the back and head, but it's never almost never sold that way.
