tl;dr:

-famous sushi joint in Tokyo, which had 3 michelin stars and got popular from netflix.
-lost all 3 stars
-place only seats 10 people and no one can get a reservation. making a reservation now, you would have to wait 2 years.
-this was the reason why the michelin guide doesnt review them anymore or have their name in their book because pretty much no one can get a reservation

Isn’t it like that for a lot of these restaurants? How are they gonna take it away for not getting a reservation.

Heard from numerous of people that went to eat there it is highly overrated. Comedian Andrew Schulz commented on going there and he too said it wasn't as good and was mostly hype.

they were trying to make it limited to create hype and maybe raise prices.

Didn't watch the video but im assuming this guy comes mostly from eating california rolls and philly rolls. Probably eating at JIros wondering where the mayo and wasabi is

Ehhh

Had some fire sushi just walking into random spots off the street out there.

Keep your Michelin star overpriced ish

Is it overrated, or was his expectations too high? There’s a difference. If you tell some people, “this is the best _____ in the world”, they are literally going to expect an orgasmic experience. When they don’t bust a nut, they’ll claim is overrated and swear whatever they’re used to is better.

And a YouTube comedian would never exaggerate for some clout either, right?

if AB said that place is lit, no stars (or lack there of) is going to change my mind. RIP to a legend.

You're gonna listen to this clown? The show starts with him spewing a bunch of ignorant ****.

Isn't Schulz one of those goofy contrarian types?

I think someone like Bourdain's opinion is more meaningful in regards to this topic
he says the best sushi was at the market where they auction the fish off at.
