great actor.  

looper, inception, dark knight rises, 500 days, brick, the lookout.....and last but not least angels in the outfield (certified hood classic)

looking forward to lincoln where he plays lincolns (daniel day lewis) son
 
Son wasn't even important in Inception.

I like him but chill you a bit too enthralled. I'd expect this type of thread for Ryan Gosling and when I say that I mean the type of over hyped thread for a good actor getting some shine and stepping their game up but the praise given is undeserved and/or preemptive.

Pump those breaks..

He was in some great movies (Inception, TDKR), but he wasn't the focus.

He's one of the best rising stars, though... and I look forward to the rest of his career.
 
One of my favorite actors right now, definitely appreciated. Don't forget about 50/50 and 10 Things I Hate About You (good chick flick) though.

A good friend of mine works in hollywood and told me this crazy story about him tho... given the amount of degrees of seperation from this story I would just take it with a grain of salt

He did this movie where he played a gay prostitute called mysterious skin.. When he tried out for the role he didnt get hired because the film makers labeled him as the guy from third rock and said he was type casted.. So Joe sends them a video of him getting staight pounded in by a dude yelling "AM I STILL THE GUY FROM 3rd ROCK FROM THE SUN!!??"

He got the role,... and also managed to become a successful kid to adult actor.. which is kinda rare

i find this very hard to believe.

havent seen loopers, but the concept of him being young bruce willis is tough to get into IMO. and like others have said, he's never the leading role but does a good job in most of his movies. nowhere near top 5, even for just supporting actors, but dude is appreciated i guess

I would have to say JGL is better than De Niro and Pacino in their current form. They haven't done anything worthwhile in ages. De Niro might be able to redeem himself with Silver Linings Playbook though
