John Elliott + Co Thread

oh, gotcha. Yeah, every time I see a discount, its not for my size.

I see JE restocks a lot of their hoodies and sweatpants (copped a black pair of escobar pants as well - damn i thought TF was comfortable), but do they restock the denim as much?

I think I have at least 15 items where I signed up for the size restock. Gotta jump fast when they do restock.

Really need the "coast" pair.

And for the black one, is that officially the stretch obsidian? Looks black to me.

i've seen them restock the denim a few times yeah.

and thats the thing, I want to see the stretch obsidian in person and see what the color really looks like. I mean, they look black haha.

it has to be black. I'm imagining the Obsidian is something not so obvious, like the inner stitching!

Really surprised there are no JE stores. Maybe thats a good thing

I could be completely making this up, but I thought Union had a good selection? All I really have out here is The Tannery and cncpts carries a little.

That Richmond jacket is really nice.

Theres a short sleeve pullover coming out at some point this season that I saw im the lookbook. Im looking forward to that.

I heard the Obsidians are black but JE is dropping an all black (tonal) ripped hem denim this season or next (along with an all white version). Looks to be the same Cast 2 fit, personally waiting for those.

good to know, although im not a big fan of ripped denim.

After these OS cropped hoodies restocked today, im hopin the Kake Mocks are up next.

i hope they just continue with the Cast 2 fit.

I will not miss on the Kake Mocks when they restock. Feel like a big dummy passing the first time around

does anyone have personal pictures of the JE denim? I want to pick up a pair but the washes all look different in different pictures

Get the Scarabs! Best wash this season imo.

I'll take some more picture when I get to the crib. But for now, here is a awfully positioned pic from above of my Scarabs.

i almost copped that pair, but the splatter paint would have bugged me. I like the way they look, but this isn't my style. Most people can pull it off, but for some reason, when i wear it, it looks like I made a mistake and splattered paint on myself, rather than it being "fashion."

by the way, Richmond Jacket just arrived and its going straight back. Awful. My fault though. I was expecting a thicker material, but its basically a sweat shirt in a blazer fit. Looked so fresh and the model online. Not so fresh on me.

It looked very rushed too. Choppy cut, poor stitching. Wife thought it was an H&M jacket, not a $400 jacket.

Not a fan of paint splatter either. For the high price of je jeans I don't want any that have holes, rips, and paint looking like I did construction work in them already.

don't get me wrong, i think it looks fine on others, but not me. I've never been able to feel good about rips in my jeans. They just look like I went and caught them on a sharp corner and ripped them by mistake, rather than it being "fashionable."

Scarabs are dope in person. I could do without the paint splatter but doesn't bother me. The overall wash of the denim is worth it, and the stretch is clutch as far as being able to move comfortably. Their Spring (light blue) wash is flame too.

Don't like knee blowouts in general so don't care for the other two washes.

Also the Kake Mocks will restock my g, not sure this season but 100% sure they're coming out again next season along with all white c/w and a new grey c/w (not sure if its terry though).

My personal favorites: Spring and Coast.

Sizes available for Spring, but Coast looks to be a wrap, except for a 36.These run TTS but have a nice stretch to them. JE denim is tapered oh so perfectly for me.

I'm picking up my Spring pair from the tailor tomorrow and can post some pics.

I'm actually in between copping the coast or the spring pair. I have found both under retail. Springs at $320 and Coasts at $250. The coast is from the first season correct? How does the Cast 1 differ from the Cast 2 fit wise? Do they fit similar?

I tried on the Zinc Cast 2 and automatically fell in love with the fit and the material. If the Cast 1 is anything like Cast 2, i'll probably go with the Coasts.

EDIT: I saw on JE website that they have Coast in the Cast 2, anyone know if they ever made the Coast in Cast 1?

Coast was made in the Cast 1 fit. Cast 2 is much better imo.

Also I would choose the Spring over the Coast wash. Mainly due to the stretch.

Coast wash does have selvage if that's important to you.

thanks fellas. i think ima go with the spring...there's no way i can go back to no stretch jeans.

I think a pair of coast are definitely in my future, before a black pair even. I've got the obsidians from, last season I believe, since I wanted a darker color to try and fade a little myself.

one more question...are the measurements accurate on the site?

You may be able to find a pair at the Galleria to try on before you cop, I think Saks 5th in Houston carries JE.

But yes, measurements are pretty accurate.
