Jordan Brand whored out the 1 . And have for years. Too many colorways, too many gimmicks etc. This release actually has some meaning and history behind it and no one cares. Too many 1s is an understatement. They finally put out the ultimate prototype that everyone hates, with an except few. JB screwed this up. When it comes to 1s, there has become a snob like view to anything that is not true OG. Because JB gave that treatment to really dumb colorways and gimmicks. Thats why its there fault. There are so many thoeries out there of what Nike is doing. I dont think THEY know what they are doing honestly. Putting this shoe anywhere near the 85 cut black and red is dumb as hell. They should have just kept it on the 18th of October and stuck with the story behind it. Personally it dont matter either way. I have mine, love em, So whatever Nike does is ... whatever to me. I dont care about the market value, not trying to make money off these. Just wanting to enjoy finally getting something I never thought they would ever release.

To be fair, this is the first time out of any February that I’ve wanted this many pairs. Every pair that I listed was a shoe I planned on copping. Didn’t anticipate all of them being mashed into one month though. I am at a point in my life where I try not to buy more than 6 pairs a year, so mashing 67% of my yearly allotment into the second month of the year is no ideal. Lol

either way im interested to see what kind of changes we see going forward, apparently starting 26 we will see less retro 1s, AF1s & dunks which is a good sign

I have wanted a true black tongue black toe for a long long time, so will get these without a doubt. I figured Nike would do something to mess these up, bit assumed they would add suede or something completely terrible. Replacing the wings is not something I'm upset about, given the story behind it, and the original poster with the pair over his shoulders.
I'm just not sure how many pairs out there right now are true pairs vs knockoffs, so will take my chances once they drop.

Sole retriever sent an update about it - retailers actually received pairs and then were instructed to hold them / not sell them. Which explains why so many are in the wild right now. I highly doubt they would have made it to retailers unless it was a last minute change.

That’s probably why so many are selling on goat right now, retailers are just flipping them now then will scan the barcodes on release day, whenever it is.

I am. The few videos that I have watched, grain of salt I know. But reps of these seem to still have the slightly small swoosh and the AIR JORDAN font is pressed in too much. Like it has too distinct of a border around it. Thats what I have seen so far. But im not 100% factual here. Still, I believe I got a good pair though.

I took a gamble with ebay simply due to bieng able to look through pics of the exact shoe I was getting. I still find it funny how anyone can truly authenticate these without retails officially bieng released yet. They "passed" the ebay authentication but I never just rely on that. I trust my gut more.

Knowing that the NBA at that time really was not ready for the bold colors of an Air Jordan, they had a regulation that the shoes had to have dominate white on them. We all know the banned story with the AirShip, but possibly the Black Toe was changed for the same type of reason. Even though MJ wore the Black Toe with the black tongue in games. Very few I think. Maybe they thought the consumer didnt want that much black on the shoe. Who knows. Just dumb thoughts from me I guess.
Im not sure in which the order is of the "chicago" colorways releases were. I want to say the Black Toe, Black Red, then the Chicago.

Black tongue all day....to match the black laces.

A lot of times when the tongue & laces are different colors, it don't look good.

Ive been debating on grabbing these now or just waiting. I’m almost sure that these are going to be below retail at some point….maybe even at about 100-120 range
