No the 2006 only had 3M on the tongue, the rest of the shoe was made out of another type of reflective material. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact name of it, but the material choice had something to do with durability and cost. That other material was slightly less reflective than 3M scotchlite or at least reflected light in a different fashion, had a bit of a different texture too and the shoes were stiffer than other V's.

i'm curious to see how these hold up with wear. i don't care if a shoe gets worn down with wear but reflective uppers can get some nasty looking creasing
Those racer blue Jordan 9s have the same material wrapping around the toe and my pair has held up well.

Of course nothing was sitting back then, different times.
It's nice.
Picked up the Lunar New Year 6 just a couple days ago, saw them in passing and grabbed them.

Mine have creased a bit after the 3-4 solid wears I've given them. Doesn't seem as bad as the 06s did. I'll post some pics next time I rock.

Different shoe but I’m posting to show how the 3M holds up
I make my son wear these when we’re outside doing yard work and he always complains because they’re too big
For some reason he decided to put them on last night to do his workout and I wasn’t expecting them to light up like this when I was recording him
Showed him the video and now all of a sudden instead of being in the garage collecting dust they’ve now earned a spot in his closet
