The new love project took the most time in prepping. Also when applying lighter color paint on a dark shoe, it requires more paint and a lot of patience. My only advice is to be patient, don't rush.

Why don't you buy a pair of highlight reels for ~$80 and turn them into OLNL. Its a lot of work but on the plus side you don't have to dye the soles nor paint the tongue.

What was the cheaper alternative product people said you can use instead of Sole Bright from Angelus? And where to purchase? For future reference.

back in 2010 i dyed my anni 11 soles blue using rit dye and water so thats only about $3

Salon 40 Volume creme from sallys. Any of the Salon volume creme works. Buy it from Sallys for like 4 bucks.

Huge difference here on my Laser Breens between the Angelus Matte Finisher up top and then Matte Spray I put on afterwards on the bottom. I will finish the other shoe this weekend.
A few tips or things to be aware of for others:
- Household bleach does a damn good job at getting dye off the midsole should you make mistakes (like I did). Acetone just wasn't good enough. Sole bright made the dye brighter - in my case it went from green to yellow.
- Make sure you put finisher on the inside of the lace holes. Basically slap as much as you want in there. I forgot to do this. I laced up the shoe on the bottom and the paint started to crack around the lace holes, and paint got onto the laces too.

It should be with the spray paints that are caged. Should be a big section full of their spray paints and finishers. If not then your local Michaels sucks lol

Oh ok well in that case it must have to do with the fact that it's illegal to sell spray paint in the city of Chicago. Looks like I'll have to go to the burbs to buy it like I did when I needed spray paint for my patio furniture
