basically what i did was turned the original jordan rings pic into grayscale then start adding layers of text, erasing the lighter to lightest areas of the portrait, which is what the project directions were to do. so you are exactly right that's what i did...

It would make alot more sense and look cleaner if you used illustrator rather than photoshop to build that. There is no actual image in the final product just rendered text. Vector based text found in illustrator would give it a far cleaner look and make resizing without pixelation possible. In the way you did it if you enlarge it will pixelate but with illustrator it would just make the text larger without pixelation
