Jordan XI Legend Blue - December 14, 2024

I'm old enough in this game with well over 600 kicks. I don't even think I wore these more than 5x in the past 10 yrs. Hell. Only wore the white/red 1x and the gratitudes are still in the box ds. The older I get, subconsciously, I'm just getting more selective. Plus, I'm running out of space. Lol
Goodness gracious 600 is a lot to try and rotate. I hear ya man I’m 42 and hardly even wear the select few retros I grab these days.

I got up to well over 700 and I feel ya. Had a room and another closet in my house just for shoes. I have since let go of over half of my collection and im down to maybe 250-300. I have so many ds that i havent worn or gotten to. I almost kicked the bucket last year and didnt wear 80% of my collection. I skipped the legend blues. They looked fugazi to me. The last time I wore the Columbia 11s was the 2001s at the sneaker jam in S. A. With the matching ASG jordan jersey. Had to get these though. Going to wear the jersey again. Only feels right. And I have this shirt I have been itching to bust out.

600 pairs is crazy. 😮. I’ve had as much as around 250 at once and HATED the space it took up, logistics and just the fact I couldn’t even wear em all. I don’t think I want too much more than around 100-120 pairs.
Smaller has easily brought me greater happiness with the collection. Never hit 100 i believe but enough for me to feel it was unnecessary.
Now im able to rotate just about each pair at least once per year grails and all.
Its more intimate and special.
Having shoes just to acquire and stare at isnt my thing. I wanna wear em, get a solid workout in.

I had a huge amount at one point myself…Never really counted because that would have been very time consuming and an organizational nightmare…A whole storage unit and a bunch of places in the house I rented at the time was dedicated to storage…I was basically stacking boxes in every corner I could, underneath things, behind things, taking up most of the garage…I’d have four and five pairs of the same shoe just because I’d see the damn things on sale at Just For Feet or a local skate shop or some **** and buy up what they had…Multiple pairs of first run Dunk SB’s, OG Jordan’s, 90’s era runners from Nike / NB/ ASICS, countless 90’s skate shoes…The list just goes on and on…Whole thing was just chaos…

Started selling the bulk off around 2005 or so…By the end of it in 2009 I had taken my whole family on a two week vacation, fully paid for my wife and I’s wedding (Which was WAY more than I’d ever thought we’d spend), and put a great down payment on our first house…Haven’t looked back since then…Though it does make me kind of sick sometimes to see what some of those shoes I had are going for nowadays, but yeah I can’t change anything about that…

I limit myself to maximum of 40 or 50 pairs and usually when I start getting close to that I just start cutting loose anything I barely wear…Make it a point to wear and not baby anything I have now, that’s mandatory for me, so if I find myself not wearing something it’s automatically on the chopping block…I’m much happier with my place in the sneaker world as a result…

But anyway, back on topic…Was never able to get at the OG Columbia’s but had both the retro releases…This pair is damn close to those OG’s, probably closer than any 11 retro has gotten so far…It’s a mandatory purchase at this point…

I love hearing this, I'm 46 and I have about 120 pairs... I am in the same boat as far as knocking down my inventory. Next year, is the last time I will buy any retros... they are releasing things I have sold or still need. But that's it. I wear my grown man Golden Goose subtle sneakers for going out on date nights or fam outings these days.

I can't rotate them. Lol. That's the problem. I work in a professional world so rarely do I wear my kicks. Maybe on a dress down Friday or a Saturday. But, knowing me, I will cop for poop and giggles and just sell these old pair.
