I ain’t gon lie that new way of doing stuff is crazy to me, most that stuff ain’t nobody buying no way. New sneakers don’t hit like they did back in the day. Lebron had it like that for a decade or so where ppl would buy a lot of different colors of the same shoe. Lord knows Kobe had it like that too, KD had it the same way. I remember when the KD 4 came out, I knew folks that literally had every color they released. Granted I’m in Baltimore which ain’t far from where KD is from so maybe that played a part. But even in those days certain colors n whatnot made sense. Now everything needs a lame gimmick or nickname to sell and it’s erky and lame. But I can’t say I mind much cuz now most of us who just super like tennis shoes ain’t gotta jump thru hoops like 10-13 or 14 years. I be grabbing retros for the low or with hella ease. For example these white 11’s were super easy to get where as 10 years ago it was unheard of. I myself am glad it’s like that now, it’s back to normal.I miss the times where it was 3-4 OG colors
Now every cat in the league got a deal and 30 colors per season
1996 was the peak of human civilization. That was the best all star game by a mile for so many reasons.I just rewatched the 1996 ASG in its entirety. I was 15 when I watched this game originally . It was so much fun. lol. First of all, that game reminds me why I dont watch ASGs today, or any NBA game today for that matter, and second of all, the shoes they all were wearing were so amazing.
MJs pair in that game may have been the most bland of any that he ever wore. It didnt matter though. We all back then had our eyes glued to the TV. Thats what this is all about to us old guys that will never resignate to the young cats. They dont have the stories, the nostalgia. Its no ones fault at all. But this younger generation does not understand how great the whole damn thing was back then.
30 drop while the dopest remain PEs lol.I miss the times where it was 3-4 OG colors

Are they shorter or longer than the factory laces? Before and after lace swap. Minor yea, but makes all the difference to me. Now I need to swap this paper thin PL.
Seem to be the same length. I got 54 inch. You can get them longer though. 64 inch. Or even shorter at 45, but factory is 54.Are they shorter or longer than the factory laces?
Yeah they stopped giving us those plastic shoe trees AND used significantly thinner PL so it makes sense how so many have warped toe boxes.yea i was shocked how soft and thin the patent leather was. this explains why so many have ****** up warped toe boxes. think it has to do with how they stuff the shoe with paper in the factory
My pair is 10.5 and 54” was exactly the same as the factories. And yeah the fatter laces make all of the difference in giving these that OG vibe. ‘96 laces were brolic.Seem to be the same length. I got 54 inch. You can get them longer though. 64 inch. Or even shorter at 45, but factory is 54.
Restock on DSG

Where did you get a pair with thick PL from? You must have really lucked out.Just cleared the final boss. No complaints on materials or craftsmanship. The PL is thicker than my cool greys and about the same as my concords. Leather seems the same as corcords. My only gripe is sizing. I decides to go up a half size from what I’ve been getting. Nike’s size chart says there is 1/8” difference in length between and 10 and 10.5, but this 10.5 is 5/8” longer than my recent 10s. Oh well. At my age I’m just glad they aren’t snug.
PL same as your concords? Yea I doubt that. I have the concords too. Ain’t no way. Maybe your concords came with extra thin PL lol.Just cleared the final boss. I wouldn’t say thick but I’ll take it. 1.4 mm on the cords and 1.3 mm on the columbias. It does feel a bit more soft/flexible than the cords, but we aint recording no push test. None of them are steel toe boots. I will also say the midsole is back to being stiff like the cords and is not as soft/comfortable as my cool greys.Where did you get a pair with thick PL from?
