Jordan XIV Black Toe - November 2, 2024

I kind of miss the pearlized look of the foam midsole that the OG had. Back then I kind of sensed it wasn't the intended look—almost as if the natural color of the foam material absorbed the paint—but it gave them character. The truer white color all the retros have had doesn't hit the same, to me.

Last shot toe box is shorter.
Material is also softer and more comfortable on the last shot.
The only issue i had with my Last shot is, the stitching of the lacing system of the left shoe, is not made correctly. It goes on the inside of the toe box and not in the middle like the right shoe and i think it can give me a painful on my left foot. Apart from that, the last shot are extremely comfortable. Maybe my favorite retros of all time.

The longer toebox is correct. The retro 14 has always suffered from a short toe since the first retro in 05.

Purchased these from City Gear on 11/04, they shipped on 11/06 and landed in my city on 11/07. Per FedEx tracking they’re still “on the way” but show that they’re sitting at a FedEx Smartpost. They showed a delivery date of 11/15 and they weren’t delivered. City Gear refuses to cancel my order and says I’ll have to wait until the 21st so that they can file a claim with FedEx.

Loving both pairs...

2024 releases > 2025 upcoming releases imo

I got 2 more pairs to get in 2024 and I'm going into semi retirement.
Here i am kicking myself for passing on those Laney highs and gym red 14s from 2020. Now that the black toe is secured. Gotta go back and throw my Pokémon ball in the whack *** resell market. *sigh*

Probably the way things are going but Olympic 6s sat and Olive 9s are sitting both to my surprise. I really cant call it these days.

Huh? The shadow 10's are coming out again? Oh yeah. With the toe caps supposingly? I hope not. When I was in high school in the 90s, the white pair with the toe cap was ok, but i don't think the look is clean on the shadows. This is one shoe where I think they got it right removing a piece off the og. They took the caps off the shadows I believe because it just didn't flow with the overall aesthetics.

Someone posted a pic of the shadows with toe caps. Looks bad.

A gimmick is why. The shadows were duds last time maybe they think it’ll help 😂. I hope it’s no toe cap for both colorways.
I'm kind of indifferent on the Steels as I had the OG's with the toe cap and I've had the retros without, but at least it's accurate to that OG release. In the case of the shadows the added gimmick would probably make me pass, and I'm someone who did buy that last retro.

Why would they put the toe cap on Shadows? Such a bad gimmick for a shoe that never came with that styling at all.

Although I've never seen a pair in collectors hands, there was an ad for them in Eastbay back in the 90s. Nike most likely recalled them after MJ's disgust with the toe cap which also brings to mind why they are releasing them with the toe cap now. I never thought they'd ever retro but we'll be there soon.
