Going to Cali for my birthday from 8/5-8/12
Just want to know some things to do and events that's happening in Cali during the time that I'll be there (8/5-8/12).. Money or transportation isn't a issue or distance..

Thanks

Where in Cali are you visiting exactly?

Cali is a big place

I'm flying into LA
And I think I'll be in that area
I know I want to go to the Oakland Raider game vs. Cowboys which is my bday (8/8)
I just want to go some must see places, places to visit, things to do, and events that are happening during the 8/5-8/12 timeline

1 week is not that much time to see multiple cities. You could easily spend all that time in Los Angeles alone

The drive from Los Angeles to Oakland/Bay Area is about 6 hours, give or take. With how tiring long drives can be that pretty much eats up a day right there, at least it would for me.

Yup. Keep it a socal trip. LA/OC/SD

Make a norcal trip another time.

a week's not enough for LA in general but if u wanan do a few days then shoot up to the bay i think it's doable. check out the ucbtheater if ur there on a wednsday night and see the facebook show at i think 930. it's an improv group and andre from the league is in it one of the best improv groups you'll find in america so hilarious.

griffith park is cool if u wanna spend a day hiking
check out santa monica, venice beach, hermosa, manhattan beach, malibu, i wanna go back.

Thank You guys
Maybe I won't head to Oakland since its so far from LA
8/8 is my actual birthday, don't know if I want to spend it driving all day
That is my favorite football team

you can easily fly to oakland or vegas (~1hr flight) and then fly back at night.

check out the regional, sorry it won't let me paste.

Yeah i'd scratch that trip to Oakland. Preseason sucks anyways. Your favorite starting players will play about 1 series and then they'll be pulled from the game. Waste of money in my opinion. I go to preseason games if I can win tickets or get them free from friends/family, but it isn't worth your hard earned money.

Not trying to talk crap on your favorite team but Raiders fans actually stink, as in they smell bad when you get them all together packed in a stadium. I've been to numerous Chargers/Raiders growing up in San Diego and know this first hand. Dudes must seriously live that raider/pirate lifestyle and not bathe much.

Check out the beach in Los Angeles if you don't get to see beaches often where you are. Santa Monica has a dope pier you can walk out on, really cool sights and views of the coast. Check out Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, etc. where you can see some rich and famous lifestyle type stuff. Those are two things that I think visitors should definitely see.

This. Hell, a week in SoCal isn't even enough.

I live in San Diego and would definitely recommend it for a vacation. Great beaches and you can take a break from the LA traffic. The Del Mar horse races are going on so that could be something fun to do. I went up to Santa Monica and Venice Beach yesterday and that makes for a really fun day too.

The Pike in LBC, Venice, Colordo Blvd., King Taco, In n Out, if you decide to hit up the indian casinos PM me I got that Cali

Man I got to spend about 24 hrs in LA for leisure for the first time a couple weeks ago. Beautiful city when you get up into the Hollywood, Venice, Santa Monica areas. Went to some club in Hollywood and it was OFF THEE CHAIN. Don't remember the name but I just know it was LIVE.

Hit Venice on the way out and I don't :smokin much at all but I HAD to dabble in the fruits of California just to say I did. Needless to say I couldn't function right for the next 8 hrs.

I agree though. Definitely wish we coulda stayed for another 2-3 days. Seems like there's something to do/see on every corner.

- Preciate it.

I just got back from LA a few weeks ago.

Venice was my favorite spot. More my speed. Beach was great, boardwalk was cool and theres a nice rooftop lounge called HIGH thats really nice at night.

Santa Monica was okay. I didn't spend a ton of time here but it was nice.

Malibu was a little more quiet on the beach. Hardly anyone was at the spot I was at.

Hollywood was way too congested for me. I live in Philly so I was looking for more laid back spots. Drove all the way up the hills though, that was an experience in itself. Went to BOA steakhouse for dinner there. That was REALLY good, and its a hot spot for celebs if youre into that thing.

If you like burgers try Father's Office. They have a GREAT burger and a ton of beers.

And as everyone said STAY in LA. Each little county of LA is a decent distance away so you'll be doing a LOT of driving.

I wish I had more than a week.

Traffic is BRUTAL if you hit it at the wrong times. Plan out where you want to go so you're not wasting time searching for things.
