**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

The current jerseys are pure trash and have been since they debuted. The cut is terrible. Looks just like the WNBA jerseys. The traditional cut is a def upgrade.
Maybe I'll change my mind once I see the players wear them but the yellow is too bright and the wordmark looks ranger childish.

I always thought with the current jerseys there was some regalness to them.

Got damnit nike, ya'll shoulda copied these. How hard is that?

Weird that the name isn't outlined either.

sohi 23 sohi 23 our current Sunday whites are the best uniform we have right now.

Whites are cool but I hate spending $$$ on white jerseys / sports gear cuz that **** gets dirty so fast.

Looks better than I thought.

Gunna need a purple Bron soon. Might pass on the white. Wonder what the alternative jersey is gunna look like this year. Have they announced it? Is it the MLPS?

Honoring a different legend this year. I would have thought it'd be Magic next but maybe they'll go old school with the Logo and drop these:

We just had MPLS last year so I doubt we'll get that one for a city uniform.

Cliffs:

- 94-95 season.
- Young squad with Van Exel, Lynch, and Peeler, Eddie Jones, Divac.
-Scrub journey men on the team: Sam Bowie, Antonio Harvey, Sedale Threatte

Team finished with a 48-24 record and lost in 2nd round of the playoffs to the Spurs. Forum was not selling out and this game alone had plenty of empty seats.

“I asked them, ‘Well what were you asking for?’ and they said, ‘Well we wanted one of Ingram, Ball, Hart, at a minimum Kuzma, and we wanted another first-round pick, or give us two kids and no pick, or two first-round picks.’ But the two first-round picks, that was a little less desirable for those teams because those are going to be late-20s picks, just any team with LeBron that’s where you’re gonna be. So it really turned into, you’re giving up at least one of the kids plus a first-round pick or two of the kids and that was just to get off Deng’s money.”

Yeah Deng's contract is dead money. Magic & Pelinka won't give up any of the young cats or future draft picks just to get rid of him anytime soon.

There's no point in getting rid of Deng until next summer now.

They'll attach a 1st round pick to him and shop him. If nobody bites, they'll stretch him & that'll leave enough room for a max next year.

Someone will take him for a 1st next summer though. Getting a 1st round pick for taking on an expiring contract is always good business.

Even if the Lakers buy him out of his contract the money still counts against the cap for the next 2 seasons or 5 if they stretch him.

They won't buy him out this season because they don't need the cap right away. Everybody good is signed already.

A buy out next season wouldn't accomplish anything because he'd still be on the books for a high cap number. Wouldn't you rather stretch the contract to get the most space possible next summer? Or can you stretch the contract after agreeing to a buyout number?

I feel like Deng would never agree to a buyout though. Why should he give up anything?
