He didn't quit ON them he quit FOR them. We brought in Rob as a first time GM. Magic saw Rob was a peacock he just want to see if he could fly. He gave up his shares of the team for that job and Rob come in not wanting any help. Instead of letting his and Jeanie's relationship deteriorate like West he got out. Took all the blame never down talked the team and said if you can do it... do it. Rob got his bubble chip so people see his tenure as a success. Even when this whole Bron expiremnt ends and Rob long gone Magic will be there. If Jeanie ever decides she wants out or the Buss family implodes, Magic for better or worse will be there with the cape on for the franchise. If for some reason the Lakers ever leave the buss hands it will be Magic who owns them.

A guy who played for the Lakers for 14 years, then was a coach for 3 years, then was scout for 3 years, then was the GM for 18 years, got guys like Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Shaq and Kobe....
