**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Magic has some nerve 🤣. For as bad as Rob is, Magic Johnson was the worst, least detail-oriented president in League history. Do legitimately wanted to run a team as a part-time job. Magic Johnson is the person who brokered the Mozgov and Deng deals and got us Luke Walton as head coach. Should probably sit this conver out.

Even if he's making some good points, Magic's track record think teams is too tarnished for him to critique anybody.

If Magic and his Dodgers group is plotting to buy the Lakers, then all is forgiven.

The points he is making are all obvious.

It's easy to talk when you aren't making the moves.

Remember the Zubac trade under his watch? How did that work?

Magic doing too much. If you care about the franchise, shut up.

Magic running his mouth, but basically him saying Frank for sure getting fired and they ain't going to move off Russ cause of the picks were the tidbits that have relevancy for next season.

???

You sayin buy the Lakers? Or his Dodgers group gon buy the Dodgers, again?

Magic owning the Lakers......man......I mean, he has done great with the Dodgers, for sure, but if he's just going to hire Rambis and Worthy and AC Green etc, Iono.

Then y'all won't have anything to blame for our troubles.....
That's not true, because literally ZERO people have said he is THE problem, that we have only ONE problem and that problem is coach, that if we had a different coach everything would be juuuuuuust great.

Not.
ONE.
Person.

Meant Lakers.

For all of this DeMar DeRozan wanted to join the Lakers talk, no one has provided any details on how this would work financially. The Lakers had the mid-level exception to offer (around $10m) and DeMar DeRozan end up signing a $28m/year deal.

Magic said we could have had DeRozan, kept KCP and Caruso, and dealt Kuzma (and I assume Trezz) for Hield. That must mean DeRozan was going to take way less and just enjoy bein home and playin with Bron/AD.

Bron, AD, DeRozan, Caruso, KCP, Hield, THT, Reaves, and 3-4 other vet Mins, that could have been Monk, Dwight, Melo etc.

:frown: :{

Right right right, no one blames coaching in here, daily, , no matter who the coach is, for years. I misremembered. My bad. My bad.
You are misremembering. You misremember that you just said that if coaching talk were not allowed, we wouldn't have anyone to blame for our troubles, as if that were the onnnnnnly complaint, (which is false).

Now you're switching it up to the fact that people do blame the coach, (which is true), along with blaming other things.

Gray area: super difficult for you. Damn near impossible.

Yeah, you can tell that Magic Johnson isn't well versed in a salary cap because that scenario makes no sense. That is some 2K level roster management.

A roster consisting of

LeBron $41m
AD $35m
Derozen $28m (current salary in Chicago)
Caruso $10m (current salary in Chicago)
Buddy Heild $25m (current salary in Sacramento)
KCP $12m (current salary in Washington)
THT $10m

Makes no sense under the current salary cap restrictions. People keep pushing this DeRozan narrative as if it was a real possibility. Unless he was willing to play for the mid-level exception, he was never going to come here.

This whole storyline is annoying because it makes it look like we dropped the ball when in fact DeRozan just went to the team that offered him the most money.

You better hire a few hitmen then to get rid of Jeanie and the whole Buss family. The Lakers are family owned and aren’t selling the Lakers anytime soon.

The only good thing Magic did was he got LBJ to sign here 3 summers ago. He showed up in person at LBJ’s Belair mansion right when free agency started at 12:01am and convinced him to sign with the Lakers.

Got to meet the beautiful Jeanie Buss the other day, I won't tolerate slander about her going forward. She's doing her best.
How’d that happen? I had a chance to meet Rodger Goodell a few years back, but I chose to keep running routes and trying to hit a target in the end zone from 25 yards out. **** that bum….

10m from the lakers... rest would’ve come from a lucrative multi-year endorsement deal to be the face of 1800-Call Jacob Emrani

Even his story on the radio kind of gives it away:

“Hey magic we wanna play for LA. Put us in touch with rob”

“Hey Rob. Call Aaron. Derozen wants to come home. Good luck”

Magic didn’t discuss money, thus he doesn’t know ****. Probably doesn’t even know how hard capping works

More coach talk, more what ifs about DeRozan, and Magic slander 👀😂🤦🏾‍♂️ y'all disgust me
