**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Judging by the way national media podcasters talk about the 2027 and 2029 picks. They call them “the best assets in the nba right now”

This leads me to believe that Pelinka has called Charlotte and spurs and basically offered them probably Russ and a second at most

If they were able to show that they’re capable of being a functional organization that makes smart basketball moves to where those first round picks are likely to consistently be in the mid 20’s, it would make sense to say F them picks.

But the organization has shown no signs of that to where they don’t deserve any benefit of the doubt. Realistically Rob likely isn’t with the Lakers come 2027/2029 it’s not out the question they say F them picks and let whoever is in charge 5 years from now deal with the damage if those are high lottery picks.

Tonight Myles Turner had 20 pts on 70% shooting, 10 rebs, 3 blks, 1 steal, 1 three, plus-11

Myles is once again leading the league in blocks

Buddy Hield had 19 pts, 2 steals, 3 threes on 60% shooting, plus-18

Buddy is 3rd in the NBA at 4.1 threes per game.

Buddy and Myles fill the Lakers' two biggest needs while addressing their two biggest weaknesses at the same time.

If the Lakers truly are trying to win and put a contending product on the floor, then trading for Turner and Hield is a no-brainer whether it's for one or both frp's.

But....If the Clippers beat the Lakers to the punch and get Turner, all hell will break loose as they watch the Clips make it all the way to the Finals with Turner and Zubac at center lol

This gonna be Jeanie

In this hypothetical Pacers/Clippers trade what is LA giving up?

Unless they really want Brandon Boston, IND dealing with them makes little to no sense. LAC ain't got a 1st they control until 2027 either. Only expiring with worth on the court is probably Reggie Jackson. IND have plenty of guards tho, so no Norman Powell or Luke Kennard on bloated contracts either. Terrence Mann extension kicks in next year. They want Marcus Morris or Covington at the 4/smallball 5 taking minutes? There's really nothing there.

They can get off Buddy and make more room for Mathurin/Duarte/Nembhard with LAL. I'm starting to think there Pelinka didn't offer any 1sts. Deal should've been done already.

GSW on the other hand. :smh:
