Folks were puzzled last week when I suggested the Mavs making a move for him but he seems to be one of the hottest things on the trade market now I think he would be good for Luka too but that's a different conversation for a different thread.

Question for you all, though....are you sold on LA making a trade this season? IDK, man. I know the West is wide open this year but I'm not sure if any of these deals that have been discussed move the needle especially if you are taking on longer term deals or giving up more picks/swaps.

Thoughts?

Pretty confident they will make a trade, probably involving Beverley and Nunn, maybe with second round picks.

I don't see them realistically trading Westbrook and the two picks. At least right now.

Really don't see them taking on salary past this season, but maybe the latest Shams article is a sign of things changing.

Mavs giving ZERo first rounders until their draft capital is fully replenished and then they are going after a star. They desperately need a 1-2 punch for luka or he will walk in FA

I think they move Nunn + Pat Bev + Damian "The Big Stiff" Jones + 2nd round pick(s) to add length, shooting, and size.

Westbrook seemingly has carved himself into a vital role on the team and has been professional all year long. Lakers recognize this and will keep him unless he completely malfunctions in December and January

Oh yeah, I said I wouldn't include a FRP for Bogey despite how good he's been. That will be an interesting situation to see play out over the next few years.

See, I think something like that package you mentioned (Nunn + Bev + Jones + 2nd rounders) is fine. Personally, I just can't see any realistic, justifiable packages that include those 2027/2029 FRPs being worth it even with some decent protections.

I was literally thinking the same thing looking through these trade articles.

If they attach a 1st, hell yeah take Fournier back with Reddish. Knicks have 4 this year and I'm sure they can spare one.


Then with Fournier on the books, might as well shop Russ, minimums and that shiny new 1st and find a team trying to clean their books or dump guys primed for big money.
