**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

That suns Team has CP3 Who is as injury prone as anybody i've ever seen come playoff time, lost all three of their perimeter defenders from the finals team & has one of the softest Centers in the league with no depth. The Suns are good & going to be a problem offensively but Defensively they are food & are gonna have to Rely On KD a lot defensively as well.

Improved but as constructed that team isn't scary

Suns are gonna be real good. But they lost some depth (buy-out shoppers?), perimeter d and I think they can be bullied by physical teams like the Pelicans and healthy Lakers. Durant should help Booker from going 1 on 5 in the playoffs though.

Could also see Jokic eviscerating Ayton and Murray cooking CP on the perimeter.

KD gets traded.

Makes Suns juggernaut for at least 2 years.
So Jeanie and laker brass think: what’s the point? Save our picks and swing for “superstar” this summer to compete with Suns.

We traded for Russ bc “we need to compete with Harden/a kyrie/KD”

Think like the Buss idiots.

interesting:

D’lo extension eligible. 2/67 mill.

Trade eligible this summer.

No trade, unless they for kyrie or superstar makes us legit threat

That makes sense.

What I quoted you saying before, I mean, bro go read it. Out loud. 😂😬

I hear you. And I agree on all points.

I just... Chris Paul*/Book/KD? Yeesh. Just gives me Steph/Klay/KD vibes as far as ball movement and execution on offense goes.

*I refuse to call him CP3.
2-time champion Candace Parker is the real CP3.

What’s disgusting is they still have Deandre Ayton. If he plays well now, they can trade them in the summer if they want more depth.

Nah he's a free agent at the end of this season:

Keep DLo.

Then you have Beasley + Reeves + 2023 FRP (after the draft) + 2029 FRP (assuming you didn’t trade it) to get a $20-30mil starter.

You operate over the cap to get the MLE. Have Vando. Could keep Rui.

Lakers trading DLo, Beasley and picks in the off-season to get different 3rd guy would be the ultimate Lakers and Jeanie move that is just as dumb as the Westbrook trade.

Don’t get too attached here essential. They are 100% doing that and going after Kyrie.

Bobby Marks gave this trade a grade of A because of the flexibility it opens up for the Lakers without giving up 2 FRP's.

And he for sure sees a sign and trade for Kyrie if it comes up which really isn't smart to me. AD, Bron and talent the compliments them won a chip. Let's try that again.

The problem is the Lakers assume a big 3 will still win you a title.

Yes you need star players, but if it’s 2-3 star players and you can’t field 6-7 more quality players, you will lose playoff games. Maybe not in Round 1, but it gets tough in the Semis and Conference Finals to run a 6 man rotation.

With who/what Lakers have. To make salaries match, you trade DLo/Beasley and the firsts to get a 3rd guy.

And the rotation behind them is Vando/Rui/Reeves/Christie

And even less room to build a team than you did when you had Westbrook.
