Is that Kendrick Nunn music I hear?

*fixed*

The Gabe signing probably won’t be terrible but was entirely unnecessary.
Felt like they spent their entire off-season for hedging against DLo outside of re-signing guys.
DLo has flaws. Pretty significant ones on defense. But good lord did they waste some resources on “fooling” themselves that they had DLo protection or replacement.

They needed a backup guard regardless. Moved on from Schroder because as helpeful as he was, he capped the offense because his shooting was shaky. Gabe can play defense (though not quite as good as Schroder) and hit spot up threes (insert joke). The rest of the PG market was unattainable (FVV, Kyrie) or weak.

Before free agency, I would've penciled in Reaves as the backup PG and sign an emergency third PG Cory Joseph. But re-signing D'Lo and signing Gabe was fine and understandable.

If Dlo wasn't unplayable in the denver series they wouldn't have flet the need to sign to Gabe.

Then you don’t draft PG as well.

My issue is they committed all the non-re-sign capital on that

They tripled down when there were other ways to go about what they wanted (defense). If you run AR at PG. Bron at PG for stretches.

Not to mention DLo is the best out of all 3 guards as a 4th quarter player. Which is the only reason you float a good backup (to play in the 4th). Because if you split DLo / AR they are supposed to be your PG for like 40 minutes of the game.

And they knew DLo was going to be back. He was signed by 1 on July 1st.

The signing was a lil funny, especially after drafting JHS, but I believe there will be movement before the deadline.

Schroder > Gabe

And Cam has been pretty unimpactful.

Hasn't been making his open shots but been serviceable on D, not great.

I think Ham giving Cam a shot to show what he got before he give it to Max.

Is it game 5 or 50? I can't tell by some of the comments.

I can't say much about any of the new guys just yet...seen some good things and some not so good stuff to start the season.

To be fair, I'll give them 10 games before handing out any kind of judgement calls.

Lakers go 12 deep depth wise.
Going with the project in jhs was justifiable and probably smart tbh.

Anybody who expected a rookie point to contribute this year is smoking good. Lively is probably the only rookie that could’ve made an immediate impact.
