**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

-Darvin's seat not hot per Haynes and Stein
-Lakers have resisted trading for LaVine because of the owed money and depth concerns per Stein
-Hawks looking for a strong return for Murray, Lakers likely can't match trade offers per Stein

I think by age 22 he might be a player… question is will have get an opportunity to develop for two years in LA? Bust label and trade talks started after two months

Calling a 19 yr old mid round pick who got drafted to a team that supposed to be in contention is exactly why people call this fanbase ridiculous. But let them trade him & he turns out to be good years from now, they'll bash management

Considering the team after us drafted a guy who is contributing to a team that is doing well in the East...

We aren't ridiculous at all. We have drafted a few mid round guys that have contributed.

That's the nature of the draft, we are NOT going to act like Jaquez was some can't miss prospect, or someone anybody besides the Heat had as an immediate impact player. He also plays the exact same position as Lebron, Rui & Vando who were all expected to play 20+ MPG and be main rotation pieces.

Not to mention he plays for the best coach in the league, in a system that demands way more from it's role players. Dude would be catching DNP's here.

all summer it was Cam Whitmore this, Cam Whitmore that.... like we passed on prime Melo.... he's just starting to find minutes on the Rockets who is a young team with 0 expectations.

Then you add in that this F.O has arguably the best track record for middle/late picks

the FO office missed on the 23 draft

spent money to move up and draft max lewis who...also plays the same positions of those guys you mentioned above.

Calling the draft a failure because the teenagers they drafted in the mid 1st & 2nd round aren't rotation caliber role players 3 months into the season.......................

So logical

The optics of not taking Jaquez are bad. Our guys doesn’t play, their guy is ballin and we could’ve taken him. Just bad optics

Maybe JHS turns out to be a good player, but he has a lot of work to do as a perimeter shooter.

where is the logic in spending 4 million dollars to move up 4 spots in the 2nd round for a player who isnt gonna be given the chance to crack the rotation ?

Maybe Lavine happens (I don’t think it does due to what is needed to match)

But it’s so much less likely due to the Westbrook trade.

How many second round players are are cracking the rotation for a contending team? they clearly see a lot of upside in Lewis & gave up nothing but money to get him & develop him.

for years ya'll wined about the Lakers lack of wings, & young players.. they draft those type of guys with late picks & ya'll are upset that they aren't ready to contribute day 1, it makes zero sense.

Austin Reaves is the exception not the norm

Please tell me what else you would have rather done with that ?... your acting as if that 4 million came out of our salary cap.

So what would you want to do with those cash considerations? but another second round pick so you could whine about them not being starter material at age 19?

Ham isn't on hot seat per McMenamin
Ham's offense isn't good/doesn't fit
Not enough shooters, duh
29th in drives and 28th in offensive rebounds
LaVine and Dejounte trade discussion
Keeping or trading Reaves
Lowe thinks Lakers don't seem excited to make a trade
McMenamin threw out a Rozier and Miles Bridges package (hmm seems suspicious)

Lakers could neverget Bridges based off the attention the team gets, him playing for Charlotte is the same as him sitting the year, nobody who's not an NBA die hard really cares. He goes to the Lakers it becomes a PR nightmare.

I would much rather do a small trade for Terry over a bunch of pieces for Murray

Do you give up the farm (AR and/or the pick) if the deal is Lavine + Caruso? Lavine/Caruso/Drummond fixes alot of issues.

I've been telling folk about CLT. Maybe Mitch finally moves one of those core pieces and tries to put something around LaMelo to help him win before he bolts.

Any combo of Terry/Gordo/Miles/Martin/Richards etc. goes

Lowkey Gordon is the best fit but his $31m and surplus of injuries makes him difficult to move for.

Don't think Mitch really has any power. He's a dead man walking with Clifford. Maybe the new owners just want to clear the books and get off Rozier's contract.
