**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Thought Vando played well… until I checked the box score and saw that he had 5 and 3.

Please send him to Shanghai the first day he’s trade eligible

Didn't watch the game but just looked at the box score...

AD....man.

To lose by 7 and see AD'S numbers...yikes. wasted D'lo's 39.

This season is opposite as last year in that they started good but will end up flat. W/o any changes, this team is going to end up #12

You are what your record says you are… and the Lakers are just a mid team.
I have said this before and I'll say it again.

The WCF run last year was fools gold. Last year was probably the last legit run at a title because a lot of things broke our way. Sadly Denver was ready for us and that was that.

At the time it seemed like running it back would be a good idea. On paper we had a deep roster but things just haven't worked out that way.

We have to make a trade for a legit 3rd scorer.

Lavine isn't it due to the money.

Murray is the guy because we can still keep some depth and maybe make some other small moves.

It just kinda is what it is...

Hopefully the right move can be made.

I don’t really remember this past offseason, and you never know with Rob what options were truly available. Running it back and building continuity sounds good, but they didn’t really commit to DLo so I’m sure he’s playing with one eye looking on his next deal… players that we hoped would show some internal development have arguably taken a step back in Austin and Vando… and then others like Rui and Max more or less look like the same player or minimal improvement.

The season in a nutshell to me - AD has been great, Bron is putting up numbers, but if you watch the games he’s know he’s not always engaged, and then pretty much all of the role players have been inconsistent (and it’s more obvious that too many of them are specialists). Coaching has been up and down, but at the end of the day if we need coaching to be great every game then that tells you that the talent on this roster isn’t at a championship level

The 2020 roster… yes they had bigs, but you know what they also had? Experienced vets at almost every position who were high IQ and knew how to play winning basketball. AC, Bradley, Rondo, KCP, Green, Morris, Kuz (maybe the weakest link but that’s fine bc of who he was surrounded with), Bron, AD, Dwight, Javale.

How many of the current role players would play consistently on that team? Too many players on this still have things to prove individually as far as like where they belong in the league. I don’t think that’s a good dynamic to have existing on a team who has championship aspirations. Prince is one of my favorite players on this team… not cause he’s any good, but because he’s normally available and he does what they ask him to do. I know that the media are asking the guards questions and their role, minutes, starting, etc but who cares because it ain’t about you it’s about the team. If they’re not willing to do whatever it takes to win a title then ship em all outta here.
