**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

What if, sending DLo to the bench was actually some type of a Jedi mind trick to get him to play better?

👀😂
Even if it was, do you actually think DLo can sustain it?

Since he dont play D, can he continue to play impact offensive basketball and put up 18-20+ point and 7-9 assist games consistently night in night out for the rest of the regular season plus playoffs?

Chances are he won't so there’s no reason to really get excited

DLo gotta prove it
👀😂

Even if it was, do you actually think Moons Over My Hammy can sustain it?

Since he doesn't really coach during games, can he continue to keep his hands in his pockets while churning out multi-game win streaks and consistent rotations night in night out for the rest of the regular season plus playoffs?

Chances are he'll fold against a team with better coaching and better bigs in the playoffs so there’s no reason to really get excited

Prove it HAM

But I’m willing to bet that’s what the Lakers offered. The Hawks said let’s talk to ownership. And ownership said no. Do Austin instead.

He’s been impacting the offense all year. Significantly so. It’s evident when he’s playing versus when he’s out. Or when he’s on vs a night where he’s off.

Can he sustain 20&7? Only 8 guys do it in the league and all 8 are the number 1 option on their team. Or at worst 1b. One of which is on his time.

But can he be right there. I’ll give you reference. In 271 games of 30-39 minutes. He’s averaging 21/6.5 at .44/.38

Let him play and give him opportunity, more often than not, you get what you’re looking for.

They also genuinely like each other and have good chemistry. So there’s that.

My only problem is DLo's contract.

Maybe he doesn't want to stick around...if we get Murray he is locked for 3 more years.

It will be interesting to say the least.

So it's basically a salary dump. Yes, gotta get this done somehow.

Work your magic, Rob.

It will just depend on what other teams offer.

We know the Lakers tax is always in play.

Wouldn't be surprised if he does go to the Spurs for a bag of dorritos and one FRP.

The Lakers not offering AR is par for the course. Rob isn’t going to offer Reaves right away until a third team and more players are involved because LA has to satisfy multiple needs therefore you don't throw your most valuable trade asset in the mix during the initial negotiation.

Offering DLo and a first instead of Reaves was nothing but a "feeler offer."

Now the Lakers know what the Hawks intentions are, which allows the Robfather to know what he's working with as he continues multiple conversations with other teams

Hawks want off the Murray Contract, but haven’t got good enough offers - Zach Lowe

Think they’ll take best available offer around the trade deadline, Hawks set on building on a future with Trae/Jalen Johnson
