Hawks just trying to recoup their assets lost on Murray is the way this has played out.
They traded a torn ACL Gallo and picks for Murray and they didn’t get better as a team. It isn’t like they traded a ton of role guys for him and then you can say well that makes sense. I.e. Westbrook to LA.
That plan failed so they are just trying to find any way to get everything they traded back. Hence wanting Reaves and not budging because they’ll then ship off AR in the off season for 2 picks.
If you want to argue a DLo for Murray swap on its own, okay. And hoping that a slightly different player may lead to different results, sure. It’s possible. Unlikely, but possible.
But when it’s another first. JHS, and a pick swap. And potentially another pick to a third team? Lakers are getting fleeced badly. Also limits any other moves for the deadline. Because you’re basically shipping out any value outside of AR that you have. And I think we can all agree that Murray by himself isn’t the deal that runeth the cup over.
Gotta walk away and move on. Hawks don’t want to deal, and if they do deal…. It’s to get as lopsided of a trade as possible.
All the extras + DLo for Dejounte isn’t a good trade. Regardless of what DLo’s contract is (DLo would stay long-term if they offer him anything that makes sense).

Who does these types of things for the Lakers besides AD?
He did that against the best team in the west.
Gotta go get our guy Caruso before another playoff contender gets him. Imagine if MIL, BOS, LAC, or DEN got a hold of him

Gotta go get a LEGIT BIG WITH FINALS EXPERIENCE. Olynyk would make the Lakers more formidable against the top teams in the conference- DEN, MIN, LAC, PHX, OKC
Olynyk would play the Marc Gasol role that never fully came to fruition in 2021.

Caruso and Drummond are perfect edge pieces, but I don't see how you get them without at least one 1st.
Unless you're dangling AR as a trade chip, which is hustling backwards for that kind of return. Might be looking more at the buyout market (Hayward/CP3) than the trade market right now.
I've been against it, and I don't think they do it anymore with his play, but I'm down with the DLo/DJM deal. Especially if it's a 3 teamer and you can get some more rotation guys. But I'm someone who loves the chaos of the trade deadline so it could be just me.
