**LA LAKERS THREAD** Sitting on 17! 2023-2024 offseason begins

Hope this Minnesota/Denver series gets front office to look at defense-oriented players like we used to have

I agree, the players available always have more impact than the coach.

my main point is that I feel like all these teams damn near on the same level. Once you’re in the playoffs, any team can win it.

Lakers need to win in the margins (draft picks, training staff, coaching, home court during the playoffs) if they really want to win a title. I don’t feel like we’ve been doing that.
Well let me ask you this then… how good is a team if they have to win all these small margins? Minn didn’t need HC to come into Denver and curb stomp them…Denver didn’t need it to come to LA and get some dubs.

If you look at the rosters of the top 3 teams in the West what do you see? Youth, size, athleticism, etc… multiple 3&D wings, star players that are top 5 in the league.

For example, just compare the defense (especially the physicality) that Minn is playing now and what this past season’s Lakers were playing… it’s like watching two different sports.

It’s not really close to me. The Lakers were built to be a good regular season team that can score but that’s about it.

Can we have a coach that shows emotions on the sidelines? I swear Pockets barley showed emotion and was just sideline watching

Don't think he's had that many opportunities to have a say in coaching hires in his career.

The one time he did with the Lakers, the org decided to be cheapskates.

Maybe Lebron doesn’t really care about the coach because he’s going to do what he wants to do regardless.. I think the problem for Ham, and probably Vogel for that matter is you can’t be no pushover because everyone will see that and lose respect for you.

I mean he didn't hire Luke, wanted Lue but got Vogel and I don't think he hand picked Ham. Def got them all fired tho

But you wanna know the thing that makes me most mad? Michael Porter Jr couldn’t ****ing miss against the lakers and he played like straight *** yesterday. **** gets my blood boiling lmao
That’s cause Ham’s dumbxxx had a small guarding the 6-10 Porter the entire series.

Meanwhile MIN has the 7 foot KAT on AG, the 7 foot Gobert on Jokic and 6’9” defensive specialist McDaniels on MPJ

Meanwhile we had the 6’7” Smurf non-defense playing Prince on MPJ and the 6’8” defensive slacker Rui on 7 foot Jokic

Whats past is past, at least we get another shot with hopefully a better coach, Minny jsut showed how it can be done, if LeGoat has the right weapons, well beat Denver next year. Im not worried about Minny.
You gotta be worried about MIN and their 3-Big monster backing up the great Anthony Edwards

And no, MIN did not show how it can be done. It was the 2020 Lakers who showed MIN the blueprint to beat DEN.

It’s just that Minnesota’s ownership and GM is wiser than the Lakers
