I was in Canada still when that encounter with Mt. Mutomobo occurred.

It forced my family to immigrate to America

Nothing was the same after that

Rck if you weren't a queens fan I would of reviewed your application last year. Your lulz are appreciated, your franchise is not :p

That's a lot of moving around. Did you move cause you were bored or for work?
Moved from CA to TN for love (DON'T... EVER... DO THIS, PEOPLE!!!! FOr the love of Jerry West, Magic Johnson, and Kobe Bryant... DON'T!!!)

Me and her moved from TN to OH for work (DON'T EVER DO THIS, EITHER. Moving to OH, I mean.)

We moved from OH to KY for school (DEFINITELY do this. I mean the going to school part and moving out of OH)

We split, she moved from KY to southern IL for school, I moved from KY to WV for work (don't do this, either! Yes, get a job. No, don't go to WV.)

Moved from WV to IL for love again, but this time, 'twas my son.

When she moved to IL, she started him in school out here, so here I be, and hopefully, the next time I move will be when he's on his own and I'm ready to GO BACK HOME (No Diddy).

I moved from Cali, to Oregon.

There is nothing worse. Nothing.

You could move from Miami to Siberia and still come out ahead of me. Serious.

Funny, can't affect wins or losses from our keyboard

But we can rip D'antoni to shreds from it, fine and dandy?????
Big difference in expressing disappointment... and belittling someone for not agreeing with you.

BIG difference.

"Man, SCREW _'antoni!! Have fun going nowhere, fellow Lakers fans!" =/= "Man, SCREW YOU cheering for us to win. Have fun being middle ground, clown."

The first one is disappointment.

The second one is taking things too seriously, like what another fan cheers for will ACTUALLY HAPPEN, and if they're not cheering for the right thing, the fate of the franchise is at stake, because what we cheer for HAPPENS.
Another example.

"I want to see us win"
"I want a top 5 pick"

You see how that logic is pretty absurd? And that is something I would call out, every single time?

"I want to date a woman who doesn't have big boobs"
"I want to date Dolly Parton"

You wouldn't be left with a

Those are the things I take to task. I get folks want to win, and all that. But if the logic is flawed as ****, I'm sayin somethin about it. You know this.
Me, too.

Your logic is flawed as crap.

I'm saying something about it.

NONE of what we cheer for matters.

Dude wanna say he wants to date Dolly Parton? I'm'a let him say it... because it ain't happening. And if it does, it's not going to be because of his post.

Dude wanna say he wants to win the next 3 championships AND grab the next 3 #1 picks? I'm'a let him, because as silly as his desire is, him saying it isn't going to make it happen.

Now... would I discuss basketball w/ him? HECK no, not if he honestly thinks some foolishness like that will happen, 3 championships and 3 #1s.
laugh.gif

But his silly desire... affects NOTHING. I'm not going to be over here like "I must get him to see that he must pick a side. He must know that he has to either cheer for us to win a championship... OR cheer for the #1 pick. IT IS OF DIRE IMPORTANCE THAT HE SEE HIS FOOLISHNESS!"

Yeahno, it's really not.

And like I've said before, it's not like you're breaking any rules. You know this. I'm just commenting because you asked. In the end, though, you know what you get for the times you're right?

That. "But ska, you typed nothing after you asked the question."

I've got family in Oregon. They love it.

You got peeps in OH saying they love it?

Does ANYONE outside of OH go there and say they love it?

But I escaped OH; you're still in OR.

You win.

One could argue, (I'm not, just that one could)

The fanbase (us) was VERY NOISY about one Mike Brown last season.

And......? Something got done.

NOW, we were also noisy about one Phil Jackson, and that got ignored, but hey.

My mindset has, and always will be, the betterment of the Lakers franchise. You know that. We won the title game 7 2010, opened the offseason thread with confetti still fallin, and Ron not even fully drunk yet, and I was lookin ahead to how we could win 2011. That's me.

For better or worse, that's who I am.

If we as a fanbase, completely went out of our minds about Kobe's contract, and showed our displeasure, Mitch would be in some hot water. Message boards, radio airwaves, Twitter, local call in shows, national call in shows, emails, newspapers, everything. Word gets out in 2014. This isn't 1983.

So when I see folks just okaying every horrible move made, that alarms me.
When I see fans okaying something that will render us middle of the pack, alarms me.

And I speak on it. Because it CAN have an affect. Microscopic as it may be.

Cheerin for a win on my couch, and the team is in Indy, yeah, not gonna happen. No affect, I agree with you, I'm with ya.

But me @ing Lakers on Twitter, writing to every reporter I know. Message boards, emails, etc etc etc, just me, just my damn self, someone will hear that.
And if there's two of me, then louder...
And if there's three of me.....
And four.....

Pretty soon, things get heard. Mitch, Jim, Kobe, Mike, Phil, they all hear us. They do. You don't have to live across the street from Staples for them to hear us now, not in 2014.

So it CAN matter. Maybe not as much as us physically calling Mitch on the phone with his direct number, but you get the idea. Having a bunch of people all over the place with their lame thoughts can be counter productive to what we COULD do if we put our minds to it.

(honestly, people should have protested for Phil more than we did last year) Oh by the way, I was ok with Mike D. Imagine if we didn't have people that were ok with him as coach and demanded Phil more vehemently. 8o 8o 8o 8o 8o

What part of Oregon?

Lots of these Oregon people love this place, they aren't very bright tho, so..... :lol

Pretty sure even Ohio is better than here, I could be wrong on that.....

i think most people here dont care which outcome other people are rooting for

i just dont understand the logic of "i really want a top 5 pick" "im going to cheer for my team to move farther away from that top 5 pick". doesnt really annoy me, i just dont get that line of thinking so if you're going to post it on a message board im going to question it

same goes for "we are fine with the guys we have currently, lets keep kendall marhsall, nick young and bazemore!" then saying "dantoni is the worst coach ever! a plant would be a better coach than him!". doesnt make sense to me, not going to lose sleep over it but i see that as flawed logic so im going to point it out.

all opinions should have some sort of reasoning behind it, if i say lakers are better off tanking i will follow it up with "because of reasons A B and C". if i say dantoni is not a bad coach i will follow it up with "because of reasons Z Y and X". im not going to say "kobe is top 5" and not have reasons for my opinion ready if anyone cares to ask.

so when i do see someone say things like "dantoni sucks because he sucks!" or "i hope the lakers win just because", im going to question that statement and expect the person behind it to have a good reason for saying such a thing

What I want, won't happen. I wan't to win and get a top pick, I understand this isn't feasible. Let's think of what really will happen, we'll probably lose and might get a top pick right. When it comes down to it, I want this team to get a top pick, we aren't good enough to win enough games to get us out of that top pick range. This makes me appreciate the few wins we get. At the end of the day, I watch this team to be entertained, and winning entertains me. That is my logic, many people won't agree with it, but the good thing is that its mine, and I live with it.

Who is saying we are fine with Marshall, Nick Young, and Bazemore? That isn't a winning team, nor close to a .500 team.

However, saying D'antoni is a bad coach is something I say because frankly I believe he is. You want facts, go look up his record as a Laker, or the fact he hasn't done anything in the playoffs, or the fact he seems to run his players into the floor, or the fact that regardless of roster his team doesn't play defense. I don't want to bore you with the reasons or facts of why MDA isn't a good coach, but I believe there are several reasons why.

This will be my last point, I love this thread, I haven't bought a pair or NIke's in years, but I still visit S&T for this and the NBA thread, It just sucks that this season has been so bad we are fighting each other. I just want to watch a Lakers game and discuss why MDA sucks and why Pau is a pansy. Those are usually the topics of choice.
