This! Jerry is right. This draft is way over hyped...overrated so if lakers do get a top three pick it won't do much like I said before. It's not always about "trolling" when some says something you don't want to hear.

I don't have an online SI account to pull the article and post it in here (I tried) but this week's Sports Illustrated has an excerpt from an upcoming book on Showtime.
It's like this......WOW.
Jerry Tarkanian was going to be our coach in 1979, shortly after Magic was drafted. Deal agreed upon, 5 years, 700,000 dollar contract. Just needed to sign the paperwork. One problem. Just before he was about to sign, his agent went missing, 1-2-3 days, no one could find him. Finally they found his car parked in a Casino garage. They found him, in his trunk, show twice in the head, Casino (the movie) style.
Tark was so shook up, he decided not to take the job and stay at UNLV.
So, they hired someone else (I forget his name) and that guy is early in the year, annnnnnnnd, he gets into a bike accident, damn near dies. They put him in a coma, and Paul Westhead takes over, they win the Championship.
The next year, Westhead starts tryin to make adjustments, changes, the team falls out of favor with him, leads to the next year, early on, and Magic Johnson, yes, Magic Johnson states after a game (in which LA won, WON) that he wants to be traded. Jerry Buss of course ain't havin that, and fires Westhead.
Buss tells Jerry West that he needs him to be the coach at least on an interim basis. Calls a press conference. West, calls in Pat Riley (an assistant coach under Westhead) that HE is the coach. Read this again, Jerry Buss tells Jerry West he is the head coach, West tells Pat Riley that Pat is the coach. 
They call a press conference. Buss, West, Riley. Buss, announces that BOTH will be the coach.......?????? Says that Riley will be a coach, and West will be the offensive coach. Everyone is like ???????? Media has no idea what the hell Buss is talkin about. Then West steps up to the podium, and says Riley will be the coach, he'll just help out if needed.
After the press conference, West (who doesn't cuss) tells Riley, "you're the ****** coach"

I feel dirty whenever Simmons agrees with something I've said. But he is thinking the same as I am on this.....
But I always feel better when he goes back to being a douche and I want to punch him in the nuts.
Lucky for us, the league won't have to rig it, so we won't have to hear this **** for the next 70 years.

As I continue reading, he gives like a 50 word blurb on Love to the Lakers, and then follows with a 2,000 word blurb on Love to the Celtics. I'm so punching this dude in the nuts someday.

agreed, this draft is overhyped.
I don't see any clear as day blue chip guys.
Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Embiid, Smart & Randle..........All seemingly have potential but this isn't the '03 draft where you knew James, Wade, Bosh & Anthony were clearly special players. Lol Darko.....
Embiid might be the only guy in that list I can feel comfortable saying "that guy is a special, special talent". Only playing ball since '11, uncanny resemblance to Olajuwon in his college days. His per 40 minutes extrapolation is also similarly uncanny to Olajuwon, and his footwork is downright impressive.
Scary sky-high potential in him.
But after that it gets a bit murky. I'm not sold on Wiggins, his athleticism is great but I'd rather Randle or Exum at the 3 spot behind Parker.
Buyer beware.

Top 5 pick doesn't have to always be a star.
The Lakers are in a bad position as is. Obviously it's ideal to land a star. But the Lakers are in such a hole, any long-term impact player will be a huge plus.
Basically, as long as the guy isn't Darko or Kwame, the Lakers are benefiting.
If they land Parker and he's the next Lebron, even better.

at knowing how "special" Wade and Bosh were in 2014, when talkin about 2003. At this same point in 2003, you and everyone else would have the same reservations about that class as you do this class. Hell, there were people that thought LeBron would bust, even as surefire as he looked.
Embiid, Wiggins, Randle, Exum, Smart, and Jabari could all come in and blow the doors off the NBA next year, and in a few years people will be sayin how easy it was to KNOW this class would be special.
And that's not even if LaVine, or Vonleh, or Cauley, Harris, etc make a splash. But before that, we gotta go with "overrated" to protect ourselves. The lone voice of reason against hundreds of paid professionals. I can respect it.

I can only speak for myself but I knew Bron was a transcendent talent and I was a huge Melo stan at the time.
I was iffy about Wade & Bosh but I knew Darko was going to be a bust.
