Poor Kobe is in for a rude awakening.

Edit:

@mcten Mike D'Antoni says he "doubts" Steve Nash plays again this season, but wouldn't rule him out
@Mike_Bresnahan Kobe's return this season looks less likely. D'Antoni: "The doctors haven't cleared Kobe so it's a non-issue right now." Only 6 weeks left.

48 million ******* dollars. And he wasn't even on the court yet. :{

Stupid *************.

What pisses me off even more, it "wasn't even a negotiation".

Mitch and Jim STARTED at 48 million?!!!!??!?!?!???!?!??!????!?!?!?!??!?!?jklobhsdfagjkbhdjkbsrjhi[dgadrfiuhaiuhoihgfdah :|

Such a wonderful idea that was. Glad we could get that done so easily. Super swell.

:{

Should ****** fire every one of those dudes for that deal alone. :{

“This year, we all know it’s been a real tough year for us right?" Bryant said. "So what I’d like everybody to do is to really just sit back and just absorb this year. Take it all in. Sit back and watch and listen and hear all the hate that’s being thrown at us and remember every person that’s kicking you when you’re down because next year it ain’t gonna be this way. Appreciate it now. Let it sit in now, because revenge is sweet and it’s quick.”
Yes, Kobe; yes it is.

On paper, we have a chance to win about 5 of those games. And even those, we could/should lose.

At Denver isn't as tough as it should be, but it is 4th game in 5 nights. Need to let that one go.
Orlando, Knicks, Bucks 3 gamer sucks, we at least need to lose to the Magic and try and get past them.
The Kings game, but it's 2nd of a back to back, so hopefully we fold there.
And the Jazz, another 2nd of a back to back.

We've already beaten those garbage teams enough this year, we need to let some of those slip by, without stealing any from any playoff teams.

Sadly, damn near half these are on national tv. :lol :{

12 of these will be on National TV. Jesus. :{

:rollin :rollin :rollin we have 4 straight on National TV, Thunder, Thunder, Spurs, Spurs. :rollin :rollin :rollin Adam Silver should just give us the #1 pick for that stretch alone. :lol :lol :lol

Oh my God...............................6 of the next 7 are on National TV after tonight. Oh. My. God. Oh man. Wow. That sucks. :lol Holy ****. :{

Okay so. Let's say we have some horrible luck and WORST CASE SCENARIO happens...

We win some fluky games land the 6th worst record but then end up with the 9 spot after 3 teams jump us in the lottery (who knows, we've had some bad luck)

Wiggins, Embiid, Parker, Exum, Randle, Vonleh, Smart, and Ennis are all gone.

Who do you guys take?

Who are your top 3 choices at that 9 spot then?

Need to go about 3-20, maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaybe 4-19 off that schedule.

That would put us at 23-24 wins.

Means we need 5 wins from the Celtics, 5 from the Magic, 4-5 from the Kings, and 4 from the Jazz.

We can't catch the Bucks, or the 76ers at this point. So at all costs, we have to give away the games to the Magic, Kings, and Jazz to double ensure we end up in front of them, and get the #3 pick, with a "chance" to jump up into the top 2.

It would also protect us, if someone were to jump over us, we would only fall to #4 (5 if 2 teams jump us, etc)

So finish wise, best we can hope for is #3. Then lottery balls in our favor could move us up 1-2 spots with any "luck".

Even at 4 tho, Embiid, Wiggins, Jabari, Exum. ONE of them would be ours. If we end at 5, and Randle is there, that mucks up the whole Kevin Love idea, unless they take Randle, showcase him in 2014-15, then try to flip him for __ while signing Love as well. (like Randle for Rondo, which the Celtics probably wouldn't do, just throwing out the trade piece, or Randle for Kyrie, which again is a longshot)

Falling to #5 would hurt us, unless the team at 4 passed on Exum. (would need that to happen)

LTB, if we fall to 9, just stop watching NBA for a few years. Trust me, if we fall to 9, forget it. You won't see Laker glory for a very long time.

Even if we get a nice player, a good player, it won't be enough of a player to transfer from Kobe to __ and bring about other marquee talent.

LaVine would have to be better than Russ to even really get close.

If we fall to 9........ :{

Think about those pieces you mentioned, joining the young cores of the Jazz, the Magic, the Kings, the Celtics, etc.

Not only do we not get one of those talents, teams we are competing against WOULD be getting them.

And then we transfer our 2015 pick to the Suns for Nash. :{

Falling outside the top 5 this year will be a deathblow.
48 million will be a second swing of that hammer

And desperate rushes for 2014 Free Agents could be the final nail in our coffin until 2016 at the earliest. (when Kobe's deal comes off, and we're a bottom feeding team for 3 straight years :{ )

:lol @ the level of disgust you have just thinking about falling to 9.

Levine though huh? Need to watch highlights. I wanna be mentally prepared for a Adam Silver screw job in the lottery. People feel it'll be rigged in our favor but I fear the opposite. :{ :lol

Hell, the 76ers could walk out next year with MCW, Noel, Wiggins, and Mario Henzonja and have just as much cap space as us.

4 kids making peanuts for money, all under the age of 22, and still have a ton of space to spend.

We'd have the #9 pick, and Kobe and Pau's corpses, along with Nash's double dead corpse. ****

There's good players to be had at 9, don't get me wrong, but good player at 9, vs great player at 3-4 is a huge difference.

Eddie Jones and Bynum were both great gets at 10, we all know that. NEITHER of them were ever going to be the key piece to a title team. Ever.

And we all wonder how great Love may or may not be, but the idea is to have a Wiggins/Jabari/Exum prospect that jumps up greatly AS WELL as Love, to form a duo that can matter. (plus sign a 3rd wheel as well)

If we had Dwight + Love + 9th pick, ok, you know the 2 key guys, just need a "Eddie Jones" type pick at 9 to work out.

Without Dwight, just Love and the 9 won't be solid enough. Unless it's a flat out blind luck type grab. But I suspect the entire league is doin their homework on this class, and we'll have scoured everyone thoroughly.

if we fall to 9, we could always trade the pick either trading down a few spots or taking back multiples to use in seperate trade (ie Love ? ) then sign lance.

they say the draft is deep but if we lose out on player mitch covets would the season truly be lost if we traded the pick?

is levine enough of a consolation at this point? worst case scenario, nah mean

john ireland might be right, might be drafting mcdermott

Who the hell is
McDermott?

My college bball knowledge doesn't extend THAT far.

Judging by the stone face id assume were in pretty bad shape if we end up with whoever that is :lol

A lesser Kyle Korver.

Kirk Hinrich maybe.

Death. Let's just go with Death if all this was for McDermott.
