I guess now isn't a good time to throw out the idea of this team possibly being top five bad again next season huh?

You'd need Randle to drop. #2 to drop. Clarkson to not improve. Kobe to go down again. Whoever they buy with the 20+ mil to bust.drop.

Just gets much tougher with actual better parts on the roster than the last two years. And those were loaded with "lucky" injuries. 3rd year in a row of that?

And keeping a top 3 is MUCH harder than what we did the past two years, so there wouldn't be a benefit this year, unless they go all the way, shut everyone down in mid November, we're winning 7 games this season no matter what, suck it Silver type tanking job. And that is quite unlikely. :lol

And if they do try to pull Kevin Love..........
There's like a small chance in my head the following occur:

Miss out on their targeted free agents, sign/trade for fodder
#2 and Randle struggle as rookies.
Kobe struggles to regain form, can't play every night, gets re-injured, etc. :(
Byron Scott continues to coach.
West continues to get stronger with every team improved/par for the course from this past season.

Of course the issue here is the East may outdo themselves again, but nothing above is really outrageous.

Possible, sure. But you still have Clarkson, whatever 27-34 turn into, and Nick back. Even with fodder + these parts, and complete collapses by Randle/Okafor, and even a couple weeks from Kobe, bottom 5? :\ :lol

I could see them in that 10th-11th in the West, worst case scenario type of deal, but bottoming out completely? That would stun me big time.

I'm not sure who they are better than in the conference. But we got a whole summer to find out.

Tune in right now to 710 ESPN Ireland is talking about trading the 2nd pick and randle

I know, a lot depends on how draft/FA goes. I expect Denver to be the team that really plummets, and we'll see what Sac does.

And really, Minny can have just as bad of luck as us, even with Towns and Wiggins, just one goes down, Rubio, etc etc.

Towns isn't working out by any team outside of that workout he had in LA last week apparently.

I like jah, needs to work on his body obviously and definitely needs to fix that hitch in his shot :x
But I like what I hear

ESPNLA and the Lakers Extend Agreement Through 2021-22 NBA Season

ESPNLA and the Los Angeles Lakers have reached an agreement to extend their radio play-by-play relationship for two additional seasons, keeping the iconic NBA team on ESPNLA through the 2021-2022 season. ESPNLA (710 AM) will carry all 82 regular-season games as well as the entire preseason and every playoff game. ESPNLA has served as the official radio broadcast home of the Lakers for the last six seasons, since 2009.

The announcement was made earlier today by Jeanie Buss, part owner and president of the Lakers, when she appeared as a guest on ESPNLA 710 AM.

“We at ESPNLA have enjoyed a terrific and mutually-beneficial relationship with the Los Angeles Lakers since 2009, and could not be more excited to extend our agreement through mid-2022,” said Scott McCarthy, Vice President and General Manager, ESPNLA. “We are very proud to be associated with one of the premier franchises in all of sports.”

John Ireland will continue as the play-by-play commentator for the Lakers radio broadcasts, with Laker great Mychal Thompson remaining as the color analyst. Ireland is also co-host of The Mason and Ireland Show which airs on ESPNLA 710 AM weekdays from 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. PT. Thompson co-hosts Thompson and Trudell, broadcast daily from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

“ESPN and the ESPN brand are synonymous with excellence, and we’re proud to be affiliated with them,” said Tim Harris, Lakers Senior Vice President of Business Operations/COO. “The management and employees are consummate professionals and people we enjoy working with, and we’re very pleased to extend our partnership with them.”

Damn, that kills the whole trade back scenario then huh?

They're the only ones I'd see desperately trading up to get one of the bigs
