Am I really seeing S&T Roy Hibbert talk in here?

I must be the only Roy Hibbert fan left.

What say you guys about a sign-and-trade involving P.J. Tucker for Jordan Hill and Robert Sacre? I would include Ryan Kelly, but the Suns have a Kelly clone in Jon Leuer already. :lol It would give the Suns depth in the frontcourt and open up playing time for T.J. Warren. The Lakers get a veteran 3 & D player in Tucker, who has a favorable contract. He's guaranteed for 2015-16 and non-guaranteed for 2016-17.

I kind of was hoping for us to chase KJ McDaniels at this point. Another young guy, of course will cost more. But another piece we hope to develop.

I like Hibbert.

Me too.
You guys are smart guys. If I were the Lakers I would be trying to retain him for 3-4 years past this.

Hes ok but his vince carter like breakdowns in crucial games is pretty scary. And he was in the weak eastern conference doing that.

Its a good thing we probably wont reach the playoffs this year cuz he would probably implode big time :lol

Trying to think of a recent draft pick Ala (Stauskas) that a team would give up on for a Young/Kelly package?

Edit: Nothing.

How about Dion Waiters and Perry Jones? Take the headache for a yr :\

I wouldn't be mad at that.

However:
@Jonathan_Feigen The plan now (per sources) is to match on KJ McDaniels and look at trade options, opportunities. They'll be patient.

I figure the team needs a vet to show the ropes a la what Boozer was intended to do. Plus Kobe needs someone to keep him sane for this upcoming season. Tucker can do that. :lol :lol :lol

I like the Hibbert pick up. The chance at keeping our top 3 protected pick wasn't high enough to successfully tank this year.

I'm thinking after the Hibbert trade and 1 more signing, we'll be looking at 30-35 wins.

Roy got that expiring contract that might come in handy, if Mitch decides to do anything with it before the trade deadline. 8)

Eh I doubt it. Maybe a late 1st so a team gets his bird rights but I'd rather keep him more long term.

It's kind of why I wanted to sign Wayne and Jordan Hill to team friendly long term deals to try and package them together to get something.

But with Hibbert, Hill would hurt young guy minutes.

I do like the Roy Hibbert pick up as well. Can protect the rim and alter shots. Was a fan of him his first few years, hopefully a change of scenery will do him good. Doesn't hurt Randle and I feel someone like Roy is exactly who Julius needs to play with.

I like the Hibbert deal too...
If he was a FA this summer, how much would he command ? His stiok is low but you can't learn height...10-12 right?
If we struck out on all the bigs, I'd be satisfied signing this guy ( which we kind of are)

Solid rim defender, exactly what we will need with a rookie point, an aging Sg and a "rookie" pf...not sure about the SF position but I'm sure he'll need help when his man drives past him on close outs

Well I always like bigs that are willing to d up even if they aren't involved in the offense. There's really not enough shots to go around anyway. Hopefully roy will redeem himself. He's a laker now and I support him

We actually looked decent last year vs teams that didn't have legit big men, interior d wasn't exposed.

Im actually liking the move for Roy considering where we are at this point losing out to every team for a Big.

KJ McDaniels can get a poison pill contract though..
